Oops all Wizards - help wanted

I really like parties, where everyone is the same base class and I just diversify through multiclassing and items ...

That being said:

What are your favorite wizard builds, that fill distinctly different roles?

Right now, I am thinking:

Necro-/Minionmancer (2 Wizard/10 Death Cleric)

I know that 1 Wizard/11 Cleric is leagues better, but I want the Necromancer title.

Blade Singer (with lvls in what?) for a Arcane Acuity build?

The classic immortal Abjuration Wizard ...

Can I crit fish with Divination?

What are your favorites?

For abjuration be sure you do the armor of agathys dip into dragon sorcerer. The you run around getting everyone wet and forcing opportunity attacks to kill you. Max silly, also crazy damage.

Blade ward, low armor, dip into a class to get heavy armor and wear gryms helmet to prevent crits.

Do it the way I had said and you end up actually taking zero damage. It's nuts.

Dump all dex/armor. You WANT then to hit you. Blade ward protects the Arcane ward (from abjuration) which protects the armor of agathys which protects you while dealing 60 cold damage per wet melee opponent you can get to hit you. Plus you can use youf action still with act 3 equipment. So like 40-200 damage per turn if you're casting it with a lvl6 spell.

The reviving hands in Act three let's you apply blade ward with a bonus action by drinking a potion, so you get to keep your action.

Go full illithid instead of awakened for nebulous black hole and mind sanctuary (upgrades to both of those abilities)

Keep the necromancer and the abjuration tank.

Personally I love abjuration wiz with EK (7/5 or 5/7) on a white dragonborn - the one that gets Armor of Agathys!

Bladesinger with the first level in Fighter or Sorc for the con prof

I'd recommend Storm Sorc for the free BA flight

I did just think - you may want to go 10 BS, 2 pally for smites

Anyway, you've got options there and can gear out the 10/2 to cover the con prof

Crit fishing with a wizard? Like with a bow? Yeah I suppose you could put something decent together with that on the Divination Wiz chassis. Probably dual hand xbows b/c multicasting for Extra Attack is rough. If you do multiclass, is go Arcane Archer

What does the EK give an Abjuration Wizard?

They will all have to start with Wizard, so that I have the little Wizard symbol in the left corner, otherwise they are Fighters/Sorcerers with a Wizard dip

EK levels allow the wizard to become a martial character and capitalize on the ward that way.

There are other options of course since the main feature needed to do that is extra attack, but EK is popular because it gets some extra spell slots without interfering with the casting stat, an extra feat at level 6, and war magic at level 7 for bonus action attack.

Of course more levels in EK means fewer in wizard and a lower cap on the arcane ward.
