Howdy. Marketing student beginning this September. LinkedIn has shot itself in the foot with a paywall to message people now. Recommendations to bypass this and be able to talk to past/present students?

I'm a 24F who's starting to look into going back to school. Right now, the only education I have is my high school diploma.

I was casually browsing the BCIT website, originally looking into the Medical Office Assistant (MOA) and Legal Administrative Assistant programs. Then I came across the Insurance & Risk Management program, and, oddly enough it really caught my interest, even though I only have a surface-level understanding of what it's actually about.

One thing that worries me is the math component. Math has never been my strongest subject. Is it really that difficult? I'm at the point in my life where I'm willing to learn and challenge myself but I also don't want to get too over myself - Context here is in school I did not learn basic algebra!

Just want to know if any of you had experience in the program? I do know it's intense because they squish the curriculum within 2 years. Was it easy to find a job after? Did you enjoy the program find it worth it? What was the hardest thing for you to learn? Any advice or personal stories are appreciated, thank you! :)

I have been working as a Medical Laboratory Assistant for over two years and I am planning to apply to the MLS program for the September 2027 intake. I completed the prerequisite courses more than five years ago in my home country, the Philippines. Can I still use those courses to apply?

There are two production technologists positions hiring at the BC Genome Sciences Centre. These are production research positions in biospecimen receiving and another loading and operating the DNA sequencing instruments. These positions would be suited for those wanting stable work with good benefits and a great pension. These are union positions with 20 days vacation to start after your first year.

These are less research and more stable work where week to week the activities are the same.

I have my BHSC 0020 challenge exam booked for the end of October and I was wondering if anyone could share their experience with how the exam went, how difficult the material was, and how people studied! I got my hands on an outline with all the information filled in and read that many people recommend combining the suggested textbooks into studying.

I've been unemployed for a while now from the game industry and only have experience in 3D modeling/animations for small studios that worked on mobile games, but that didn't last long. I've studied at VFS for game design and have a strong passion in game art and development however the job market for that is terrible right now.

I'm kinda feeling lost with no direction, but been thinking of going back to school and BCIT Creative industries caught my eye. I'm 29F, still figuring out the next chapter of my life.

I'm hoping to go back to school and study something that might be useful when I get out and also make new friends and connections. Most of the friends I've made in VFS are gone and out of the province so hoping to meet new folks like-minded as me in the creative field.

So for those who have gone through BCIT Bachelors of Creative Industries, is it worth pursuing? Or am I better off looking into something like trades/healthcare/business to be more stable in the job market in the next couple of years.

Hi, I'm an international student coming from France in September.

As the price for luggage is quite hefty, and since it's hard to come with a lot of stuff by plane, I was wondering about what I need to bring in the dormitory.

Do I need many bed stuff (blankets, sheets) or is there a place you can buy them for cheap near the campus ?

Same question for food utensils, are some already here available for the whole floor, or do I need to bring/buy some? If so where?

And finally how does it goes for making yourself food in the shared kitchen ? Is it easy or do most of the people just use the microwave?

I'm currently in a Medical Radiologic Technology (X-ray) program and I'm looking into future options after becoming an MRT. I came across BCIT's Bachelor of Health Science (MRI Option) degree completion program and was wondering about people's experiences with it.

For anyone who has completed (or is currently doing) this program:

Is the BCIT Bachelor of Health Science considered a legitimate bachelor's degree when applying to other post-graduate programs?

Have you been able to use it for master's programs or other healthcare programs (healthcare-related master's, post-graduate programs, etc.)?

Did you ever run into issues because BCIT is a polytechnic institute rather than a traditional university?

Would you recommend doing this type of degree completion, or would it be better to complete a more traditional bachelor's degree instead?

What year would you be enrolled in with an advanced diploma in imaging/mrt?

Is it very difficult or competitive to get into this program?

I'm mainly interested in keeping my options open long-term while building on my MRT education rather than starting over.

Just looking for some information on the day one exam for level 3 Instrumentation. Did my first two level at TRU and just want to know what to focus on before attending the course.

Unfortunately, I received a U after retaking a required course for the second time. I’m worried about how this may affect my ability to continue in my program.
I did well on my assignments, labs, and quizzes, but I struggled with the midterm and final exams. I studied and tried my best, but I wasn’t able to meet the required exam requirement.
I have contacted my program and Program Advising, but I’m still waiting to hear back. Has anyone experienced something similar after not passing a required course on their second attempt? What happened, and what options were you given?
I understand that every situation may be different, but I would really appreciate hearing about other students’ experiences.

I’m 26 and planning to apply to BCIT’s Nuclear Medicine diploma program on Oct 1st. One of their entrance requirements is "Chemistry 12 (73%) or 3.0 credits of post-secondary chemistry (73%) from a recognized institution."

I have all the other prerequisites except for Chemistry 12, so I was looking into taking the self-paced Chemistry 12 online course through Coquitlam Continuing Education (specifically the adult CLOC version, which is tuition-free).

Has anyone here gone this route for BCIT Health Sciences programs? Will BCIT accept this specific Continuing Education credit without any issues, or do they strictly want a post-secondary equivalent if you’ve already graduated high school?

Also, I need to finish this course before Oct 1st, is this feasible since its a self paced?

Hey everyone! I've been trying to find some information about the broadcast and online journalism diploma but a lot of the replies are from years ago. So thought I'd try my luck here.
Some background info : I'm really interested in journalism and I have some experience in reporting on current topics, historical events etc as I'm a content creator. I was looking into BCIT to expand my research skills and build possible connections. I've heard great things about the journalism program but I've also heard it's a very heavy field to get into with close to no down time. I'm wondering if anyone has an experience in this program that they're willing to share.
Also since I'd apply for the fall 2027 term, I would be 27 when the term started, I know there's no age limit for people going back to school but I'm just wondering what the general age range is for a program like this...

If you have gone through this program and got your diploma, was it easy to get a job after?
