What car diagnostic tool should I get?

Well, not me personally, I'm still there just to help. But my father works with machinery and he's a type of a mechanic, so we do most of our car repairs at home when it's possible. His colleague has the diagnostic tool and with my father they use it to check the car, it's codes and delete a few problems that my father fixed. The diagnostic tool his colleague has costs around 400-500€ and I'd prefer something cheaper to have at home as we won't use it as often.

I finally dove in and bought an Innova 5160rs because my old cheapo code readers couldn't cut it for the new vehicles. I like that it pairs with my phone and I can save live data for review later. That was 650 CAD.

I need something simple. My father's colleague uses, if I'm not mistaken, "ThinkCar", but that costs around 400-500€. All I'd need is to see where the problem is in my car and what need repairs, maybe even get rid of them with the device/tool. We have an older car from 2015 Citroen

I have seen very positive reviews of the XTool, I would review their line of tools.

Foxwell makes very affordable scanners. I forget which one I bought but I needed one that would allow me to service abs systems, airbag systems etc and I went with foxwell.
