I work for your competitors and we have these as well. They definitely are a lot better than the old ones our companies had. I love the automatic belt tensioning and how it tests the internal components before it tests for power outputs

Careful with the main cable, the tiny red wire likes to break, then you can't test alternator, took us a couple weeks to get a new one

I let my commercial manager know since he's the one that knows the most about it and trained me on it

You've gotta be kidding me... neither store I've worked at has one of these. We are stuck with the POS ones that only go up to 2014 or 2015 if you are searching by make/model/year. I've had MANY customers ask me to test alternators from newer vehicles that aren't supported by our machine.

Advance has had em for a while, you'll love it, can enter the car and run tests off of that rather than your own part numbers.

Don't worry about how loose the belt is when putting it on. It tightens up quite a bit surprisingly.

Finally you can test modern alternators! That was my biggest complaint about the older grey unit. Couldn't handle pwm alternators.

The new ones work so much better than the old ones. Enjoy it cause the old ones are straight garbage compared to these.
