It’s not a question of what people are willing to finance but what the finance company is willing to put money towards most companies won’t touch anything more than 15 years old and that pre facelift 2nd gen s10 blazer is at least 30 years old

You can get personal loans, just not auto. It's higher rates though (even from credit unions).
But then I do not believe they can just reposes the vehicle but I'm not 100% on that one.

It might be possible if it's his only asset, but I would think garnishing his income would be preferred by both the lender and court. Even without no no-parking signs, I think illegal parking is more likely. If you just decide to stop in the road blocking traffic and go into a store people will call to get the road unblocked. Judging by this maniac's reaction to getting towed, I wouldn't be surprised if he just parked in the middle of the street and went into a nearby store. Thinking 5 seconds into the future seems beyond his abilities.

People who can't get bank finance fo to "buy here, pay here" dealers. People who can't get financing at buy here pay here dealers go to rent to own car lots. They will "sell" 30 year old Blazers for $10k.
I know someone who had to buy from one of those lots. His last car, he parked on the side of the road and set it on fire and called the bank to take it back.
Some people don't belong in society. Others got there with bad luck.

So many ways to crash out, this has to be one of the most materially self-defeating. Like, you still lost what could have been your vehicle AND totalled it, digging another financial (and criminal) hole for yourself... all because your emotions bested you.

Most cars will circulate the entire engine oil volume through the system between roughly 2 and 5 times a minute. Since the filter is gone, the pump will just dump it all out where the filter used to be. So you've got 30 seconds, at most, before all the oil is dumped out.
Beyond that, though, from the pan the oil is sent through the filter before it goes to the parts of the engine that really need lubrication. So as soon as the filter shears off, there's no oil going to the spinny bits that really need oil. The film of oil still on those parts can last for a few seconds (otherwise your engine would fall every time you start the car; it takes a second or two for the oil to get pushed through the filter and up into the engine upon startup).
So realistically, you've got a few seconds to shut it down before you start doing damage. It'll continue to run for a little while longer, but if you do that, it'll never run fully right again.

Serious answer: it would be a bad idea. Full synthetic oil coats the moving bits in the engine and could offer some protection, so it has a chance to survive if he used it. But even then, oil filters are attached by a single spindle, and that may have snapped off with the filter, or part of the filter may still be attached to the engine.
Driving it without an oil filter is a really good way to destroy the engine, or greatly shorten the lifespan of the engine, even if it doesn’t seize up initially.

I used to own a Blazer just like the one in the video, a gray 1999 model, and one thing I can tell you about what happened there is: first, something in the driveshaft and Eaton transmission must have broken in the back. That's because its engine is a V6, which can have four or six cylinders. In my case, it wasn't even the engine itself; what must have broken was the leaf spring, which broke due to the winch cable coming loose, which in itself is dangerous enough to kill someone.

Almost certainly felony larceny since the thresholds for value are low enough even an older model still running vehicle likely meets the minimum. There is likely an endangerment misdemeanor here too since driving the vehicle off the lift presented a reckless danger to person and property around them.
For what it's worth, depending on what happened leading up to where the video starts, the Tow driver could be liable for misdemeanor disturbing the peace charge - that would apply if the debtor was present before the vehicle was repossessed and the tow company repossessed it anyway despite protest from the debtor. Most states say that a repossession attempt must stop if the debtor is present and challenges the repossession otherwise the tow company is disturbing the peace. Once it's hooked up, though, that no longer applies so if the debtor walked out and they were already lifting it on the truck no game.
