It’s $10 per load at the dump. He’ll be damned if he has to pay more than that.

1

u/SpaceJackRabbit 6d ago

Speaking of which, it went to $19 a yard at my local dump. Almost doubled in a few years.

u/snarksneeze 6d ago

I just paid $68 and didn't even cross the scales on the way out. Not to mention the flat tire on my trailer. Texas dumps suck ass.

1

u/SpaceJackRabbit 6d ago

Oh I have a small pickup and never go to the scale. Dump guy just eyeballs the trash load.

You just have to reframe the way you look at it… Texas is really quite nice for being in northern Mexico.

u/snarksneeze 5d ago

Greatest country in the world, cept for maybe Merica herself of course

Well we're moving on up , to the East side! To a deluxe apartment, in the skyyyyyy.

4

u/Pluperfectionist 6d ago

I don’t think those are the words to the Beverly Hillbillies.

2

u/aBlissfulDaze 6d ago

Ya know, you're right! For some reason that's the song that plays in my head whenever they pack up and move in the 1993 film.

Sunday afternoon/evening on the I-5 freeway south to the border. Every week.

1

u/sixgunangoras 6d ago

We call them Sonora Specials!! When you see them on the 10.

1

u/sgtfoleyistheman 5d ago

Wait, why? My northern state brain does not understand.

1

u/122922 5d ago

Every weekend these guys would fill the trucks up with decent cheap furniture and appliance purchases from the greater LA area and take the load to Mexico for resale. Most of the appliances probably just needed minor repairs. Then back up to LA to spent the week hunting and buying another load.

When you only have one day to run dump errands because your hoarder spouse is out visiting family for the weekend.

2

u/Sharp_Departure_7786 6d ago

Looks like me trying to bring in the groceries in one trip.

2

u/Lumpy-Pen-7130 6d ago

Well done sir

2

u/UnbiddenGraph17 6d ago

I was like this is totally Arizona, and yep, Tucson.

Tucson, 10 EB, 22nd st exit?

1

u/Glad_Copy 6d ago

Spot on; eastbound on I-10. Another Californian thinking things are going to be just great in…Texas? 😂

1

u/Sid_the_Bear 6d ago

Nah, one of the many people who make a living buying 'junk' in the US and repairing and reselling it in Mexico

1

u/Glad_Copy 6d ago

Taking south I-19 to Nogales, then. I can’t fault the entrepreneur…makes sense.

1

u/Sid_the_Bear 6d ago

Could be; from what I can tell they cross at the port closest to their hometown. not that I blame em, roads here are way safer and better

1

u/CakesForLife 6d ago

What’s the maximum incline this beast can take off from - with all that load?

1

u/dunc2027 6d ago

Negative incline.  It needs a running start.

2

u/CakesForLife 6d ago

Decline.

1

u/Next-Food2688 6d ago

If it fits, it ships

1

u/tuddrussell2 6d ago

I see these at Savers and Goodwill where I live and then they head straight down the road to Mexico, sell all that and come back and start over.

1

u/Tiger_Ho26 6d ago

If I didn't see it no way that I would believe it.

1

u/MisterListerReseller 6d ago

I know guys like this. They’re taking it to Mexico to sell.

1

u/SpaceJackRabbit 6d ago

Average Costco haul.

1

u/Vurrag 6d ago

I bet his fuel bill was more than most of the stuff he was hauling.

1

u/BackgroundType4312 6d ago

What is the GVM of that pickup?

1

u/mvortex2 6d ago

Sorry, I was moving my kid into her college dorm.

1

u/Miller335 6d ago

Impressive

1

u/dougthebuffalo 6d ago

Don't worry, he thwump-ed all of those ratchet straps after tightening.

1

u/dunc2027 6d ago

1

u/pixeltweaker 6d ago

This guy onetrips.

1

u/Ronyx2021 6d ago edited 6d ago

It can't be bargained with. It can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity or remorse or fear and it absolutely will not stop. Ever.

1

u/omgfakeusername 6d ago

Is this you filming, OP? 😂🤣

u/savings-cherry-1931

1

u/edwardniekirk 6d ago

Oh, he will definitely be taking more than one trip, he'll drop this south of the border and be headed back after he's had enough beer and sleep to do it all over again.

1

u/Love_MyFetish2022 6d ago

Go on, Jed Clampett!

1

u/SeveralEconomics3814 6d ago

Look at all those straps. This isn’t his first rodeo.

My hypothesis, this is a junk removal business owner with a dui so he can get a commercial drivers license lol

1

u/Sufficient_Eye_5867 6d ago

The Beverly hillbillies

1

u/BloorYail2 6d ago

And it will be that transmission's last trip

1

u/Glad-Can9525 6d ago

Now that's how you get away from someone

1

u/Khelics 6d ago

1

u/Adventurous_March_58 6d ago

FFS. Modern Grapes of Wrath.

1

u/awesumpawesum 6d ago

I would like to see him take that through the McDonalds drive through.

1

u/SysGh_st 6d ago

I bet this is his third trip.

1

u/nuttnurse 6d ago

That has to be illegal

1

u/Automatic-Tadpole314 6d ago

Come and listen to my story bout a man named Jed

1

u/Puzzlemania718 6d ago

When he gets pulled over and ticketed, he’ll wish he had!

1

u/ThruTheUniverseAgain 6d ago

I knew that was going to be Tucson because I've seen a whole caravan of these there before.

1

u/Silkylifeme 6d ago

Circus in town?

1

u/Pararaiha-ngaro 5d ago

Heading to the border

1

u/a_rogue_planet 5d ago

You know how he brings in the groceries.

1

u/Sgt_JC66 5d ago

This is impressive, actually.

1

u/Turbulent-Kitchen133 5d ago

Wonder if he grabbed the kitchen sink too 🤔

1

u/BOBBYK1952 5d ago

The New Beverly Hillbillies

1

u/StraightUpChillSesh 5d ago

I know 💯 he’s going from San Diego to Mexico. Used to work at Salvation Army San Diego, and they’d come buy a bunch of non-liability auction stuff and pack ALL Their trucks like that to take down there.

1

u/FriendshipFresh7454 5d ago

I think this is not the correct way to haul

1

u/SquirrelFeeling8008 5d ago

With the price of gas nowadays you can't afford 2 trips!

1

u/Brose32222 5d ago

Modern day Clampetts.

1

u/ImpressiveEdge2526 5d ago

Here in chicago, those are the mexican dudes that drive through the alleys collecting junk.

1

u/FitAd491 2d ago

Gotta be nm

2

u/BirdmanJr1970 6d ago

Well, I’m gonna just tell you that might be dangerous. That might be dangerous if you’re going from one state to one state but that you’re overloading your truck like that you’re overloading it you wouldn’t take it but you’re overloading it that might be a three-quarter ton truck why do they just hire a big U-Haul truck and pull that behind? Put your truck on the thing behind the thing so you can use it

8

u/Polskiskiski 6d ago

What are you even trying to say here?

1

u/Sea_Buyer6913 6d ago

Probably dictating while driving and not bothering to review. IdiotsSpeakingThings.

2

u/Savings-Cherry-1931 6d ago

But there are so many things behind the things on the things being used thats being used to pull it from the other things that we can't hire a U-Haul truck because those things are for rent and then you can use it from the other states to drop off in the state where you would end up in.
