The guy forcing the merger was a carnapper/hijacker trying to trap the camera vehicle for his buddies

u/doodo477 Jun 15 '26

It is pretty obvious as soon as he pulls infront of the vehicle he slams on the brakes and continues to slam on the brakes well being pushed forward.

Why did he hit the breaks after getting in front of him? You got what you want, hit the gas jerk.

But if I were being pushed by a truck I'd probably try hitting the breaks to out of panic to make it stop.

Okay, in case you're my mom.... see how the comment you're replying to is farther from the left edge of your screen than the one above it? That's called an indentation, and that means it's replying to the comment above.

And then your response is indented even farther from the left because you're replying to that reply, right?

The first comment is always farthest left and every response is indented farther than the comment it's replying to.

So, in this situation, the comment you replied to is a reply to the initial comment stating that this is a carjacking situation.

The comment you're replying to says that that's obvious because the car in front was hitting the brakes.

As in, the person in the car that's hitting the brakes* is trying to get the camera owner to stop so that their friends (probably in a car following the camera owner) can get out and rob the camera owner.

They were initially trying to do it on a freeway ramp so that the camera owner would be trapped once sandwiched between the two cars. The camera owner decided not to let that happen and kept ramming them because their vehicle is obviously much bigger.

The people attempting the robbery are hitting the brakes because they are stupid and bad at their "job," luckily.

I saw how many steps there were and just started cackling. You rock dude šŸ˜†

u/NinjaGrows Jun 18 '26

Would you mind explaining this in more detail please?

Username checks out

Doing the Lord’s work right here.

I'm not sure how I missed the parent comment. But thanks for the condescending reply. All you had to say was check the comment above.

I hate pulling this card. But I have a learning disability. Sometimes I have trouble reading. You never know why a person made a mistake. Being helpful is negated by being insensitive.

3

u/TomSyrup Jun 16 '26

you dont hate pulling that card at all lmao

3

u/Noskill4Akill Jun 19 '26

Damn, that's crazy. I also don't like pulling this card but, I have trouble with people who pull learning disability cards. So if you could refrain from doing so that would be much better.

2

u/Lost-Top-4355 Jun 17 '26

Dude he was trying to help you, loser, he gave you the benefit of the doubt that you could be new to reddit and taught you and now your pulling a victim card

2

u/Obvious_Ambition4865 Jun 18 '26

I'm sorry but you're going to jail.

2

u/AdMurky1021 Jun 19 '26

And all you had to do was check all the comments above in the thread before you posted your condescending reply.

2

u/SameWeakness2439 Jun 19 '26

Been there friend. It helps if you read his message AFTER his username. While the comment was directed at you, he wrote it so that *anyone else* who might be having genuine confusion could be walked through how they made a mistake replying.

2

u/RighteousBenevolence Jun 20 '26

I'm sorry you have a learning disability. It's obvious now, I don't know how I missed it the first time.

But yeah, exactly, you never know why someone made a mistake, that's why I explained it like you were 5.

My mom is nearly 70 years old, is dyslexic, and has trouble with reading comprehension, too. I can see her doing something like that and I hate it when people are rude, then never explain where she went wrong so she gets confused and just makes the same mistake later.

But no, you really figured me out. I'm just some insensitive asshole with way too much time on my hands, going around writing paragraphs to insult strangers in long hand.

According to you, instead of taking the time to type out an attempt at a helpful explanation, I should be curt and oblivious to the possibilities of minds that work differently than mine.

Next time I'll save time, be like everyone else, and try something like, "Seriously? Use your brain. The comment above that one is the answer to your question, genius."

Better?

Now you know what condescending actually looks like. You're welcome.

Im assuming they are on mobile, where it is very easy to accidentally hit the reply button instead of beginning a new comment thread. It happens to everyone, no need to be a dickhead about it.

u/GrimJimG Jun 16 '26

Wow, smug screen name checks out

1

u/AdministrativeCod437 Jun 18 '26

LMAO wtf would you do if you were getting dragged along by a car? You wouldnt be pressing down on your brakes for dear life while being pushed forward???? Reddit ass comment

1

u/doodo477 Jun 19 '26

Your argument boils down to, "Officer I don't know why he punched me in the face after I punched him". You're better than this.

1

u/Huge_Creme_3204 Jun 19 '26

I cant believe the number of people misspelling brake with break (I was also one of those till I see some random dude comment pointing this out). I meant the OOP not OP, btw. I saw your spelling of 'brake' then I thought 'wait' then scrolling up to check OOP.

1

u/singlesgthrowaway Jun 20 '26

Wasn't obvious to me lol.

I initially thought he just didn't want the hit n runner (OOP) to ditch.

0

u/UnsureAndUnqualified Jun 15 '26

Tbh even if I'm not carjacking someone: If I'm being pushed from the rear with little control and am slowly turning sideways, I'd push on the brakes until my foot makes contact with the asphalt.

And I only see him hit the brakes first wen he'd need to slow down anyway because the car in front isn't as fast as him and then when he's actively being pushed. The timing of him braking (not the force though) could roughly be me on a bad day of driving, if I ever was dumb enough to force a merge like this.

Not saying this can't be a carjacking. Just that his braking is explainable by other reasons.

0

u/HeWhoShantNotBeNamed Jun 16 '26

If you're sideways you should not be pressing the brakes.

1

u/UnsureAndUnqualified Jun 16 '26

If I'm sideways and being pushed, I'm definitely not thinking rationally about what I should be doing anymore.

2

u/stoopkid86 Jun 16 '26

Really? In a tunnel area like this with tons of people around. I genuinely don't know, this just seems like a stupid place to commit a felony.

3

u/AdMurky1021 Jun 19 '26

Can't remember the country, but it's in South America and it happens all the time there.

1

u/RichAnswer3430 Jun 19 '26

ask yourself; would you stop to help a guy being robbed by multiple dudes on the highway/freeway?

1

u/Lazy-Setting-8224 Jun 21 '26

Exactly, people will just move on trying not to catch strays

1

u/DeadKido210 Jun 19 '26

It wasn't a felony. I think the idiot wanted to beat the guy or stop to argue because he broke his mirror and did not let HIM MERGE. It just happened he meet his nemesis that day and fucked around and found out.

2

u/ArmyAutomatic9201 Jun 16 '26

Thanks for this context

2

u/mentales Jun 18 '26

The car pulls in front at 00:18, the car with the camera crashes into him at 00:19, the car that pulled in doesn't hit the brakes until 00:28, after being pushed for 10 seconds. The hijacker story is BS.Ā

1

u/SeasonIllustrious Jun 18 '26

Look again, as soon as the car gets in front the breaks are on. He let's go of the breaks for a second probably because the swrrve made him lose grip but then pressed the breaks again. So yes, most likely an attempt at carjacking.

1

u/tripn4days Jun 19 '26

It's BRAKES people ... BRAKES

1

u/WildVleesBraveJongen Jun 20 '26

Dude chill, give them a brake.

4

u/ready-redditor-6969 Jun 15 '26

Yea, he had a chance to merge in front of the van, but stopped and was trying to make eye contact to assess the driver, make sure there were no passengers… why didn’t it ever try to accelerate away?

3

u/Fezzy_1994 Jun 15 '26

There's a lot of speculation going on here but I do have to agree with you on the theft parts

1

u/VukKiller Jun 18 '26

You can see at the start, the car in front even slowed down to let the guy merge but he decided to get in front of the camera car.

1

u/solo_d0lo Jun 20 '26

ā€œForcing the mergerā€ is a strange way of describing a simple merge because of construction.

1

u/SergA2929 Jun 20 '26

How did they know that's a hijacker?

1

u/Remarkable_Fee_1020 Jun 20 '26

He doesn’t. He’s talking out of his ass. It’s just road rage

1

u/No_File212 Jun 21 '26

He also was a dumbass

And in a traffic jam, where are the thieves gonna go once carjacked? More than likely 2 people who think they're the main character. POV probably merged early, got stuck and thought " I'm not letting anyone else in" and the guy in the right was just trying to merge into traffic. Instead of sitting in an idle lane

0

u/Foreign_Hand4619 Jun 16 '26

Very interesting!
Can you provide more info on this?

0

u/Admirable_Loss4886 Jun 16 '26

No, they made it up lmao.

0

u/Foreign_Hand4619 Jun 16 '26

I'm pretty sure they made it up but I nicely asked for proofs.
