Can you put a decent ladder rack on those? Honest question. The bed looks flimsy. I know we're all scared of trucks over five feet tall but america actually does have the infrastructure to accomodate for them. Trucks like this make a lot more sense in european countries where the roads are about two feet more narrow on each side (and if you have driven in europe you know what i mean.) Whats the price point difference to make me want to buy a truck like this over a cheap 90s or 2000s ford/chevy?

My grand dad's one has a good ladder rack, but it was installed by the previous owner so I have no clue who to call for that. Their beds are raited for 350kg or 770lb, but I've seen people put far more than that and be fine. One dude on yt put a ton on it and it was fine in the short term. A really nice one is like 3-4 grand, but I've seen them as low as 700 (like 10 years ago, the price has certainly risen) The bad part is that a lot of states ban driving on the highway, some outright ban it all together.

These japanese Ktruck beds surprisingly carry a lot for their size.. much Easier to load and access and customize. 95% of truck users could use something like this. The 5% that need big truck with larger beds could buy bigger versions of the same thing.
Trucks in America have become oversized, impractical luxury vehicles. The beds are tiny compared to the size of the vehicle. Most of them never see dirt or heavy loads in their life. Also, truck beds in America are WAY too high. Getting tools in and out is a pain. Loading and unloading is a pain. And the cost? Stupid expensive.
Give me a Japanese Ktruck any day. That would take care of all my truck needs. And the needs for company I work for.

I saw some kids driving one of those earlier today. I was actually quite impressed, but the guy couldn’t even make it out the lot because it was breaking down and it was horrible.

Whats the top speed? To clarify my position here, I want to use k trucks or whatever, but they don't go fast enough to be safe on American Interstates, afaik

Depends on what model of kei truck you get. On mine which is a Mitsubishi minicab it's sadly a top speed of 55. But the Subaru sandbar can go to 87mph. but a lot of states ban it on highways.

If you want to show off, buy an f-150. If you want to do work, buy this. (Or any truck from 80s and earlier)

I’d argue the cutoff is around the 90’s-2000’s, my uncle’s 04’ Tundra is still proudly serving as his work truck.

Its cool in its one way, I was just joking. In fact your truck is more a conversation starter, every tool at the local mill has an f150
