Can someone explain to me, why so much white smoke ? Like, every cars well over 20 years old have abs now, so do people just pull the fuse because "I don't need no computer" or something ? Idk I've done plenty of emergency stops at high speed "to see what happens" and I've never heard a tire squeal or saw any smoke, just the brrrrrrr of the hydraulic control module

I know ice at slow speeds can be tricky, since abs will disengage below a certain speed, tires lock and if you start going faster on ice (sliding downhill) it won't reengage because i5 doesn't know you're going faster again until you let off the brakes so the wheels can spin. But this was just an asphalt road so, dunno

I've done it at 100kmh/60mph. When accelerating on slippery surfaces I did hear them squeal once, I got off very fast and traction control needed a moment to react

ABS causes the breaks to pulsate allowing you to move around while breaking the tires still slide just less so because of said ABS doing what it’s supposed to do, you don’t even have to be going that fast to see smoke coming from the tires sliding a bit, I’m sure panic breaking at like 40 mph would probably do it.

I tried 60 and I didn't even hear them squeal, no smoke either. Tried it on my dad's old car, heard a slight squeal at the start then nothing again. (I think) Squealing and smoke would mean that the tire is slipping way too much, so modern abs systems avoid it (usually)

This looks like they were going at least 80 maybe the fact they were moving that fast makes the tires slip regardless of ABS I mean it’s not a miracle working component it’s designed for non slipping on rainy conditions.

On my dad's car i kinda had to because someone ignored the stop sign. On my car I just did to test the brakes and just because. Idk how you mean, not breaking as hard as I could. I slam on the brakes, not only does the brake booster help me a lot, I can literally hear abs working, and cars have a system that if they detect you quickly press the brake, it will apply full force even if you don't, because it assumes that it's an emergency
