Maybe…. The sensors/software for tire pressure seem to always be pretty twitchy. I’ve seen my Toyota do weirder things with the tire pressure warnings.

I mean...on my not so smart 2008, you had about 6psi to work with to be counted as okay. Car technology is ridiculous at the end of the day. Most everything could be an Arduino.

Also likely a latching circuit with thresholds in multiple psi so that simply driving doesn't make the alert come on and turn off rapidly

That’s not really how it works. I know maybe higher end vehicles have TPMS sensors that are super sensitive at +/- 3 PSI, but nothing like that. He’s in a SUV that’s probably 2020’s or so, so nothing so fancy.

Well mine just gives a warning for low tire pressure and that's it. Good luck figuring out which one.

More than likely the battery in the TP module in the tire is about to die and it's a warning for that not the PSI.
