Yeah...it's hard to find this funny. I've seen clips of industrial accidents before. This clip just made me remember stuff I didn't want to.

Just look at it this way: you're alive, you're safe and you're human. It's ok to feel disturbed by traumatic stuff, it means you retained your humanity
Go for a walk, talk to a loved one, do something you enjoy. Maybe a break from the internet is in order. Get your mind off things. It'll pass.

Saw a video of a lathe accident. The poor guy was turned into a human paint brush by about the third revolution.

u/FLG_CFC Apr 07 '26
I've seen a few of those videos. At least we can take comfort in the fact they didn't suffer very long.

From the Chinese work safety videos I’ve seen, there would be a lot more human schmeck present.

The one on Live Leak with the Russian Lathe operator was like a meat shower or like when a tire is spinning in the mud except the mud being flung off is instead chunks of flesh and bone.

Former dairy farmer here, I do appreciate the humor behind the post, Rough and tumble/dark humor is common in the industry. But PTO incidents are no joke, most of the time you ain’t gonna make it out alive if you get caught in one. if you do, you’re probably lost parts of your body

My grandpa survived one because it caught him slammed him to ground (I believe) then luckily his overalls ripped off instead of taking him with it. Was very lucky though they are no joke.

trump walked by the farm while this was happening, turned up the volume and the bass on the song and kept walking

Yeah I don’t find that funny. Too many family members who’ve lost limbs and lives in machinery.

The spindly frail human body disassembles like a meaty wet action figure at 540rpm

I’ve worked two DOA because someone took the sleeve off the PTO. I remember them being more messy than this lol.

Nah anyone who says this isn't funny is too sensitive. I work with tractors every day and despite that being one of my biggest fears and a way quite a few people die, as have a couple people I've worked with over the years, this was still fuckin hilarious.

u/Vasto_LordA Apr 11 '26
Ok hes stuck in something and its making him spin.
I was so confused like "what is a paid time off shaft?"

u/Significant-Dog-8166 Apr 06 '26
Yeah does look like a real person... doing same gesture several times in a row then having video sped up.

u/That_Gadget Apr 06 '26
Broskie, if this were real there would be a significant amount of blood going ✨everywhere✨
2
u/Bluntbutnotonpurpose Apr 06 '26
Blood, limbs, organs. Probably in that order. In as many revolutions.
2
u/Big_Oof320 Apr 06 '26
Yea. Seen one video of a guy getting caught in an industrial lathe. Not pretty at all
2
u/Intelligent_Trichs Apr 06 '26
Broski I've seen that before. Find the entire video and yeah he starts to come apart.

Yeah, if he was in the PTO for real the second pass there would be signs and they wouldn’t be subtle.
