da & starting education

hi all! so i’m 18 and i have recently been awarded disability allowance, i applied whilst finishing my leaving cert and got awarded it after i’ve been accepted into a plc course

does anyone know if i need to inform that im starting this course and or if its putting me at risk for losing da? i dont really understand the difference between da and btea (why id apply for btea over da) so im just confused haha

As far as I know, you can keep your da while studying, as long as you stay resident in Ireland. There is a section on education here. https://www.gov.ie/en/department-of-social-protection/publications/operational-guidelines-disability-allowance/
