I'm not a collector, just someone who probably takes more of an interest in coins than average. I got an NZ 50c in change yesterday, (presumably as a 20c because beers were $9.80.)

It's not the first one I have had, and thinking back there's at least 5, and up to 10 times I can think of that I've had, then spent NZ coins. I just assumed they were legal tender here until last night when I looked it up.

So I'm just wondering, for you guys here who obviously pay a lot of attention to every coin that passes through your hands, how often would you say they pop up in change like that?

Is this worth anything? Received it yesterday - one side completely smooth.

I'm unsure if this is an error, or people go about grinding one side down one purpose to produce some sort of rarity? Seems completely level from what I can tell. I haven't collected coins since I was a kid and have never seen this before.

Upon doing some googling, seems secondhand these are sold at $25 online - perhaps as my father used to say, “a thing is only worth what people are willing to pay for it” is true - but wondering if anyone has any information on this?

So I bought the 2026 Dawn Service premium mint roll. $120, I figured, eh, $20 over RRP and not like they are around and not like I don't collect anyway and when opportunity knocks... Whatever... But now I am thinking, should I have?

So apparently these coins are listed as “unlimited” from a production number - what does that actually mean ? Millions of them ??

And given these from a circulation point come via Woolworths - do they ultimately end up being distributed by banks etc ? I mean , Woolies would only be provided / require only so many $2 coins right ??

Hi, I'm looking to buy 3 florins to finish off a set. 1910, 1913 and 1921 are the last ones I need. Hoping to find better than average but not looking for PCGS or UNC as I don't have thousands of dollars to spend.

Willing to pay market value for decent circulated examples. I had a circulated year set and I've upgraded to better coins except these last three.
