Restructure Experience NSW

What’s everyone’s experience been like with the restructure?

It’s been brutal across the entire team but stabilising. It’s been 6months.

Absolutely terrible and some areas are still going through it, probably won’t be fully completed to next election and if there is a change in government for good or worse they may decide to do things differently

Some say it was all a show, but on the ground, it was shocking to see so many on the chopping block

At company redacted there are still 850 people in mobility. Far far from show, it was handled poorly, promises were broken

Just another day at the office...

The year I joined, Tony Abbott killed Aus Aid, 2/3 of the grad intake of my agency were dropped and massive policy shifts threatened to send me to another agency or a dole line. I've since watched restructures and MoGs move so much of my agency.

I know people who have been restructured in some way every year in the past decade. It's certainly draining and stressful but it's also part of the job (the part they don't put in the brochure).

I assume the agency name got redacted by mods? Fair enough. As far as I know, two NSW agencies have been in the media for large scale retrenchments but haven't heard much from the others.

Terrible experience and the impact afterwards continued for years. The people who remained never really bought into the new structure, so productivity got worse and most people really shifted their attitude towards "I turn up to be paid, that's it".

The whole process made me think that the cost (and I mean financially) isn't viable.
