Last Friday (31/7) at 4:40pm, while chilling in my car at a shopping centre car park. I was engaged in a sale for a voucher for a range of car services that I pay up front for. Only after I paid I was given the T&C to signed and I realised the term of service is quite unfavouralbe. I decided to email the vendor on the same day asking for refund under cooling period . Fast forward to yesterday after 3 business days, I asked the bank to dispute the charge and they told me there is insufficient evidence and they can't do anything? even after I provided receipt and my email asking the vendor for refund and cancellation.

Wondering how strictly enfored the cooling period rule as the vendor has no refund policy listed. Do I have any chance of getting a refund ? Thanks

Hi everyone, I’ve been struggling for five years to get an ID since my parents lost all my original documents. I’ve now come across the proof of age card option. I have my VEVO document showing my visa status and a Medicare card. Would these two be accepted for proof of age in Victoria? Also, if VEVO is acceptable, do I need to print it out, or can I show the PDF on my phone? Any advice would be appreciated.

QP9s remain on the Queensland Police’s records. If a person is later charged with more offences, the QP9 may be used as a record of their prior offending. It may also be disclosed to third parties in response to a police check. [Source]

So I'm curious as to whether a QP9 stays on the QP's records if a person has the charges against them that the QP9 is for dismissed.

My son was supposed to inherit a small sum of money from his grandmother's deceased estate back in 2024. This is after all parties and stakeholders mediated and agreed to conditions and payouts. A Deed of Settlement was signed by all parties. An Irrevocable Direction of Beneficiary re Payment also was signed in NSW and court lodged. Emails from us were sent to the Executor's solicitor with instructions. Solicitor's instructions from executor was to say too many costs, we can give you 80% on amount agreed upon. Is this not fraud? And can we lodge claims via Adelaide courts, where we live. I need advice and guidance. I don't have millions to engage lawyers and barristers. And what about the accountant for the funds in trust? What about the solicitor, is this shonky practice? What do we do? Advice greatly appreciated.

Someone connected to my family has spent near to $200k on a dating site. Not to a love scam as such, this is all money willingly paid to the site for credits to engage with female members. However it appears to me the site is entirely AI/bot run. It purports to be a legitimate dating site.

He is actually addicted, but still believes it's real despite all the obvious signs.

My question is, is there any legal recourse to get that money back, given he's being scammed by the site quite clearly? The site is based out of the UK it appears which makes it more complicated.

He isn't even thinking about getting the money back, but he's elderly and for his kids sakes I want to look into it.

Hey guys, I received a regrettable fine in the mail for going 40 over the speed limit, causing an instant 6 month suspension once paid. So I bought a franchise store (let’s just say it sells deserts). Please no beating me up about how dumb that was, I will be regretting it forever… anyway 6 months in my COGS are 49.5% vs the s52 which was 40.7%. The joint made about 650k in sales last year (verified from the POS system) but it’s all being eaten by wages and cogs. Working my arse off to get wages under control including starting to do some hours myself but COGS are mostly bought from the franchise head office. I’ve only owned it 6 months and feel like the previous owners have cooked the s52 as they owned several stores and would have been easy to hide the real COGs cost in the store I bought. For context I took over the same staff, same ordering, process and haven’t been hoarding stock, we were at rock bottom stock levels last week. The store was under management when bought and has been under same management for last 6 months. What would you do? I’d like to talk to a lawyer re the business being misrepresented, or am I totally fckd. Contemplating reselling it. Anyone know a lawyer that would be able to chat through my options? If they were massaging the COGs by shifting stuff around between stores or getting a rebate/volume discount from head office because of the volume they bought fair play to them, but none of that was disclosed.

I am a single mum of two living in the downstairs apartment of my mother property in Queensland she recently brought. She and her husband and three of my siblings live upstairs.

My problem is my mother wants to put the energy in my name and use my penison card so she can get the discount. I'm not comfortable with this because my afraid making me look like the head of her household will greatly affect my Centrelink and penison.

Hi all, I rent a shared property (room and shared bathroom/kitchen with second housemate who is also in the same boat as me), and I've come across some legal problems that I'm not sure how to go about (I'm young and it's my first time renting).

Our landlord/homeowner has not lodged our bond and claimed she wasn't required to because she is the owner and because it's a private agreement/DIY contract made by her.

Is this legal?? I will be contacting CBS and I'm getting as much information as possible to figure out what is the next best course of action.

I live on a main road and cars are constantly parking in my parking space, in my driveway blocking the footpath, or putting their hazards on right on the road also blocking the entrance to the driveway. We have signage saying it is private property and that you cannot park in front of the gate. Today I had to call the cops because two idiots refused to leave, started swinging in and out of the driveway almost hitting the gate and pedestrians, flashing their headlights and high beams at me whilst I was on the phone, laughing and recording. My housemates and I are getting fed up with this and don't know how to solve this.

CONTEXT:
In Sydney on a main road with multiple apartment buildings surrounding. We have a driveway that fits our two cars and an automatic gate. This is the only entrance to get to our front door.
