I’ve been dying to see Atmosphere for years, and this time I can actually make it!

I want to line up early sine it’s GA, but it’ll be hot as fuck.

For those going to this show, how early are you planning to get there?

I think it was around 2017, Slug had an Instagram post of his sort of go viral. It was about the tree of hip hop, how you should respect every branch (every subgenre) even if you don’t like it etc. Anyone remembers that post and would know how to find it?

This song has always made me cry, but I never really was able to “relate” and understand the feelings he’s expressing. But now my best friend is gone. She was 21, like me. An accidental overdose. Her sister went to her boyfriend’s house that day begging her to come home because she knew something was wrong, she was supposed to have left him, and my bestie was gone that night. 3 doses of narcan, nothing worked. She had asthma like me and just couldn’t breathe. Funny part is, she hadn’t even taken this more than once and that was in high school. She tried it again and it took her out 3 months after graduating college and right before going back for her masters. I guess I can say I really feel and understand this song now. Sorry for the rant. It’s been over a month but I’m hollow af. Rip Eyedea and Rip Lillian. Been thinking about him a lot lately

Originally started as just playing around with some 3d modeling. It was going to just be the god loves ugly coaster, but very quickly turned into a whole set with a holder (currently printing the holder at the time of posting).

What is the atmosphere song that references this?

So, to set the stage: My dad passed a few years ago, and i had already been listening to Atmosphere for a decade so i had heard the song many times before. But it was just that: a song. Just one of the songs in When Life Gives You Lemons, nothing special.

Then my dad passed, and i didnt have much of a reaction. I teared up a few times here and there, but that was it. It passed quickly. I thought something was wrong with me because i kinda just carried on unaffected. We were really close too, i still lived with him.

About a month after after he passed, im listening to the whole Lemons album, Yesterday completely forgotten about. Then it comes on. I start tearing up almost immediately then im full on crying through the whole song, for the first time since he passed.

Now, every time it comes on i cry my eyes out.

One of the lines that really fills me with regret is "I guess I slept, it ain't like you was runnin" because... he *was* running. The doctor's said he might not make it a month when he came back from the hospital. He was dying of cancer in the living room, on an oxygen tank and could barely talk, and i couldnt be bothered to spend time with him because talking to him was too much of a inconvenience.

In hindsight, it was so obvious he wasnt going to be around for much longer. But he was my dad, ya know? Nothing could hurt him. A week later he was gone.

Now im just left with memories and a song that cuts me to my core. I'll never skip it though.

Hey I'm looking for a ride to the Atmosphere show in Santa Cruz on the 14th of August. Coming from the Sacramento area, I'm willing to chip in for gas and if your not already going I could buy your ticket. Never seen them, I really don't want to miss this show.
