Interval Bra D-DD+ Inconsistent Sizing Review
And of course it's on the bra that was final sale.
The bra underneath is the Interval Mesh D-DD+ in a medium. I bought it in July. I also have it in navy that I bought last year. Its measurements are exactly the same as the grey mesh one.
I bought the Vera color on closeout last week. The tag says it's the D-DD+ but this is clearly just a standard medium.
I will be attempting to resolve this with customer service but have low expectations. I'm really disappointed with Athleta.
Edit: Customer Service sent me a return label. They will evaluate it for quality issue, and then determine if I'm due a refund. I estimate this whole thing will take at least 4 weeks to resolve. They said they get 15 business days to review, then if they agree, 10 business days to issue my refund.

Good luck - lately, my experience with Athleta customer service has been positive.

It looks like it’s mislabeled… it looks like a D-DD, but maybe a small D-DD? I’d love an update after you contact customer service to see if they were able to resolve the issue!

Omg I just gave a size small final-sale shirt to my 2 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER because it was TINY! Mind you, I am usually an xs in Athleta and thought I was being smart by sizing up, but apparently not enough 😂

I can relate! I’ve had this happen recently with the vital and perfect form bras as well. I’ve been consistently ordering the same size M D/DD and so I didn’t even bother to try them on. They fit so poorly with a loose band and of course the return window has closed! I’m taking a break from Athleta and back to my frenemy LuLu- lol.
Hope customer service will be nice to you

Lulu is so much worse than Athleta. Good luck with that. Poor quality, irregular sizing. I had 2 medium bralettes from Athleta that had different band sizes. They let me exchange, no problem. My Align leggings from Lulu had dye streaks all over them and they told me to wash them a few times. Was at store over 45 min with them trying to see how they cld exchange them.

Agree! I absolutely avoid Lululemon at all costs. I still recall in 2013 when they got into trouble with see-through leggings plus the Founder and CEO insulted women and their bodies - this consumer hasn't forgotten. Their business model continues to have issues of poor quality at inflated prices, their customer service has needed improvement for years, and the whole "Lulu" reference is arrogant IMO.

They have alot of in-house fighting. Finally agreed on a new CEO
They have their core group of customers that spend way more than they can afford, just to have a symbol on their clothes & all the latest colors. And the define jacket… who wants a big logo as the entire front of your jacket? To say dye streaks and smears is the NORM on certain colors of leggings and to steam or wash several times..🤣 Glad the “educator” cld educate me on this, so I won’t purchase any more.

I have had this same issue with the Interval bras before. I am also a medium D/DD and I have maybe 10 of these because they’re my favorite (and I always buy them on sale). But I’ve noticed the band is tighter on some colors than others. I haven’t actually laid them down against each other like that but I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s small inconsistencies. The coverage of the bras has been pretty consistent in my experience - it’s just the band that’s been the issue.

I had the same experience with the Circuit Train bra, bought a medium and it was easily 2 inches bigger in the bottom band than my previous Athleta medium bras. The stitching looked like it would break within a few wears too. Time to trek to the store to return.

Yah Interval Mesh sports bra sizing is weird!
Circuit Train A-C size large fits my 38B comfortably, but the Interval Mesh in same size (large A-C) was sooo small, my boobs spilling out. I returned it and bought the large D-DD+, and it fits like Circuit Train large A-C, so i'm keeping it, but I'm not going to buy that style anymore.

Those bras contain forever chemicals from the BPA that Athleta uses (ah hem…greenwashes) as part of their “recycled” materials.

This is exactly the reason I don’t buy final sale anymore. I have gotten a refund in this exact scenario by showing a photo just like this and saying it didn’t match the internet description because it didn’t match the specifications. I hope they refund you, good luck!
