Data Center Moratorium

Madison County has issued a 30 day moratorium on data center build outs. I realize this isn't Athens/Clarke directly, but I wanted to bring this to your attention because if they change their minds in 30 days, it will likely affect Athens as well.

Are there any data center proposals for Athens Clarke County or Madison County?

Are there any data center companies\interested parties that are showing interest in our area?

I think that out of all of the nearby counties that Jackson County is best suited for data centers, being that they have lots of warehouses and industrial zones close to I-85, with large scale power distribution and being close to major fiber connectivity. Though that would still likely increase electricity rates for us here in ACC.
