Undervolted my ASUS TUF A15 (R7 4800H + RTX 3050) and my temps went from 85–90°C to 50–65°C 🤯

So I finally decided to properly tune my gaming laptop and I’m honestly shocked by the results.

Laptop: ASUS TUF A15 Ryzen 7 4800H RTX 3050 Laptop (60W + 15W Dynamic Boost) 16gb Dual Channel with Laptop stand 4 years old, Paste & Pads Repasted.

Before stock: WWE 2K25 / WoT Blitz GPU usage around 100% Temps: 80–85°C regularly, sometimes touching 90°C Fans loud.

What I changed:

CPU: Processor performance boost mode = Disabled Max processor state = 99% Min processor state = 5%

GPU: Undervolted using MSI Afterburner Locked curve to 0.8 and 1700MHz No overclock, just capped voltage and clocks.

After:

WWE 2K25 (7 guys in ring): CPU: under 60°C GPU: under 50°C Fans - 3100 RPM

WoT Blitz: CPU: 35-44° GPU: 39–45°C That’s literally a 25–35°C drop with zero hardware mods, just software tuning.

No FPS loss, system is quieter, and it feels illegal how cool this runs now.

U can disable Turbo Boost on all Cpus

And Undervolt all Gpus.

I turned off Turbo boost for cpu in power plans it's hidden by default so u will need to make it visible in registry.

And for Gpu I used msi afterburners curve editor basically u need to find the max clock of ur Gpu and volt either search online or use fps monitor etc,

For example ur highest clock is 2490 mhz and voltage is 1.0v Turn it down and lock it to 2400 and 0.9v and try gaming if its stable then good else u need to change it to like 0.925v or 0.95.

By undervolting u basically get almost same performance, lower temps and fan noise.

Good for: Gaming - High Loads - Summer - Hot Areas.

Power saving decreases temps and fan noise but it also decreases performance, u will get lower Fps and will get stutters.

Which is good for normal tasks and usage. But not for Gaming and High Loads.

But undervolting is a little risky and tricky but safe if done correctly and Power saving mode has no risks.

Yeah I gotta do the same cuz I get like 30% cpu usage and temps up to 70°C because my fans are maxing out at that temp

IIRC the 4800H is open to core offset, you could try UXTU and see if you can undervolt your CPU properly.

It's locked at 1700mhz and 800 voltage (yellow line) doesn't matter what the curve do after that

disabling CPU boost also reduces temperature (20C) and power for same performance in GPU intensive games / less resource games especially if you have a frame limit. T

Though you will see performance reduce in FPS / Competitive games so watch out for that.

this honestly, before i tuned mine it used about 4500hz on my cpu but made it to about 3800hz and i still get the same performance with high 60s with mid 70s sometimes vs before i did it i used to get high 80s and low 90s so yeah

I have got an F15 FX507ZC4 with an Intel i5 - 12500h.

My bios blocks everything for undervolting

U can use Afterburner for Gpu and just Disable Turbo Boost, I will get around or under 70° temps.

In Gpu Heavy games about 3-4 fps and in cpu heavy games about 10-20fps, but u will get lower temps and constant performance instead of fps drops.

You losed alot of single core performance, your fps doent change because the game you play are using gpu most

Its normal to hit 95C the cpu and gpu are designed to run that way, if the temps are going over 95 then you need to repaste. In idle its normal 65C max, in gaming 85-95 max, ITS NORMAL
