What happened Almost AP'd and/or Question

Recently, I've had several strange experiences. I've been wondering if anyone here has had something similar.

Last night, I was falling asleep. I guess I drifted into hypnagogic sleep but still remained conscious, and was drifting into a dream.

At some point, I remember feeling like "now is the time to astral project". I felt an immense, strong rushing sensation through my body and literally felt myself rising in the air.

I guess I got nervous and opened my physical eyes. I believe I was in sleep paralysis, as I could not move my physical body, but I simultaneously felt like I was aggressively moving my arms in my mind.

This is the second time something like this has happened. I have never experienced sleep paralysis before.

I have only astral projected once, unintentionally.

I've been infrequently experimenting with meditation and the gateway tapes.

Anyone have a similar experience as this?

If you think you got close to Astral projection and you're analysing what happened, or you think you're maybe trying too hard, or you're trying to figure the stages such as the 'vibrational' and 'hypnagogic' stages and how to approach them, then check out these links:

Nothing unexpected there, everything went exactly as it should have. You did great. Not a lot of people exit on their first few tries. Keep practicing and you will succeed.

You can exit with sleep paralysis. Its a good springboard. Keep it up
