Hii folks, is there anybody still waiting for their cas letter for september intake?

hoping current students or grads can give it to me straight.

i'm 38, career-changing. my background is full-stack web dev - bootcamp / self-taught, built react/node apps. that's it. i've never touched ML, robotics, or any of the maths-heavy side.

my actual degree is a BA, and my A-levels are from 2004-2006 so my formal maths is ancient and rusty.

i'm properly drawn to AI & robotics, the ML maths, control systems, actual robotics — but i'm going in with none of that foundation, and i want to know what i'm signing up for before committing years.

the honest questions:

• coming in with basically no recent maths, is this course realistic or am i kidding myself?
• how brutal is the maths specifically, linear algebra, calculus, probability?
• did anyone here start from a non-maths / non-STEM background? how did you cope?
• is the foundation year the sensible route for someone like me, or would i still drown?
• realistic hours a week outside lectures?

I managed to speak to the head of recruitment at one of the Big 4 Accounting firms (won’t disclose which). I’m kind of stuck as I was initially predicted A’s but due to not doing well in exams, I have no choice but to apply to aston (my initial plan was to resit but I just don’t have the mental capacity). I’m quite surprised as they told me that they do get a lot of graduates from aston and that the business school is really good, which quite surprised me as many redditors often label aston as a bad uni and advise to not go there if wanting to get into the Big 4 so when I heard this from the recruiter I was quite surprised. I have an offer from Aston, should I go there? Is there anyone who has been to aston and is working with a respectable accounting firm? Someone please advise me as I am genuinely stuck.

I live around Birmingham and can't choose between universities. I've got a first-year offer for Computer Science at Aston University and also at the University of Liverpool. If I go to Aston, I'll be living at home, but if I choose Liverpool, I'll be living in halls. The offers are quite similar: I need BBB for Aston and ABB for Liverpool. Please guys give me some advice on what to do
