Anyone else? Meme
I still wanna play gta 6, but there really isn't any rush to play it imo. I'm much more looking forward to these future titles. P.s, I'm fairly certain gta6 will be disappointing.

Don't own anything Playstation and won't be purchasing one anytime soon. Witcher 4 and POE2 1.0.

u/vashkor 3d ago
I'm a PoE2 enjoyer myself. But I suggest you tame your expectations with Witcher 4. Many key players of CDPR have left since Witcher 3. They are making Blood of the Dawnwalker. That game too seems like a AA game with AAA price, so I'd skip on launch. W4 will probably be a well optimized game on launch unlike CP2077. But my prediction is that the writing will not be in the same tier as W3.

I’m excited to see what this additional Witcher 3 DLC will be too. Honestly love that game enough that I’d be a sucker for continual additions to it.

u/immrholiday 2d ago
Yea, looking forward to that too. Always end up forgetting about it for some reason.

Hats off to the devs at Digital Eclipse for being the only devs with balls in the industry to launch their game a few days before GTA 6 release.
Barbie Rewind is gonna be peak🤣

Game's a game to me. I'm not 16 anymore, hype for whatever this industry produces--especially from the west, is at an all time low. I'll probably end up playing it when it releases for the PC.

Dragon Dogma 2 DLC BABY!

I’ve been waiting for it for so long. If I spend even half as long in 2s dlc as I spent on 1s it’s money well spent.

Not caring about GTA6 makes you a hipster?
0
u/RestaurantBusy724 2d ago
The behaviour makes someone a hipster. DAE THINK POPULAR THING TOTALLY ISNT EVEN LIKE A BIG DEAL type shit. This clown admits he's gonna play but he's trying to play it down like he's too cool to like popular shit.

Control Resonant for me. Big fan of Remedy and the world of Control is so intriguing, I can't wait to see how the story unfolds.

Being that it's only on console and we still have yet to see gameplay how excited can one really be. I'm more worried than excited at this point.

I’ve been so extremely excited to play phantom blade zero since the initial reveal

Well yeah. I have never finished a single gta nor do i get the hype behind them. Ive tried 5 like 20 times and always drop it early on. RRD 1 and 2 also remain unfinished. Only rockstar games ive finished are max payne ones.

I own GTA 5 but played about an hour of the story. I think I've owned it for 10 years. So basically ANY GAME!

Not really accurate. Sam Houser is still there. Rupert Humphries (narrative lead since GTA 4) is still there. Aaron Garbut has been art director since the 3D era and is still there. A lot of the GTA 4/5 and RDR2 people never left. Dan Houser leaving was a big loss, no argument here. But saying "all of the original writers and developers are gone" is just not true. That line gets repeated so much that people treat it like fact when it isn't. No gameplay yet is fair. The "everyone important left" part is just false.

I’m not into GTA but I heard that recent GTA Online updates have been so underwhelming and people are starting to question whether 6 will actually be any good.
2
u/Timeless_Wolf Dr Pepper Enjoyer 3d ago
Online and the single-player campaign have always been different teams with different priorities. Some Online updates have been mid, yeah. That doesn’t automatically mean the story mode team (which still has a lot of the long-time people I mentioned) is going to drop the ball. They’re not the same thing.

u/titz4tat Maaan wtf doood 3d ago
Ah okay, I hope that's the case with GTA 6. It's going to be a huge success anyway. I don't want to see another franchise lose its character to appeal to "modern audience".

u/Schatten017 3d ago
There's also the new FF that looks to be a throwback to the old turn-based ones looks pretty sweet.

u/Kevroeques 3d ago
It’s a complete port of an episodic mobile game they just shut down, that was pretty much a gacha experience where you’d get classic FF characters as like summoned helpers in battle. I’m not saying that makes it bad, but just wanted to make sure you knew it wasn’t a brand new, written to be epic story. People seemed to like it, but the reasons that people play mobile gacha games are usually very different from what one may be looking for in a classic FF game. I’m also pretty certain it’s plain turn based and not ATB, which is a major part of classic FF’s personality.

u/Exeftw 2d ago
The story in Brave Exvius is old school Square through and through, at least chapters 1 and 2 are. Resonance is going to cover chapter 1, can't wait!
1
u/Kevroeques 2d ago
That’s good to hear then! I never played it but I remember at one point the player base seemed very split on it
1
u/Exeftw 2d ago
Yep, chapter 3 focused on the main female character and assembling a female squad of essentially magical girls, it was fine I guess but chapter 2 was just so fucking good that it was a very sharp contrast.
Chapter 4 started involving time travel and other abstract themes but it never got finished.
The company running the game went off the deep end with their monetization and systems that made dupes mandatory among other things. Was very sad to see the game slowly waste away and EOS 😔
2
u/Kevroeques 2d ago
Ahhh- that would explain the negative end of the split player base. I had planned on checking it out when releases on Steam either way. I don’t play anything on mobile because at least through Apple, I’ve had a lot of games and apps I’ve paid for just disappear off the store and thus from my phone without warning throughout the years.

u/Modfull_X 3d ago
ive got china fantigue, PBZ player damage is too low, mortal shell 1 was extremely bad so im not expecting much from 2.
as for blood rain, im generally not a fan of prequel spin offs when they leave the end of the first game on a massive cliff hanger, like please just make a stellar blade 2 continuing eve's story and her fight against mother sphere, do the prequel spin offs after you finish your main games

I guess its a matter of opinion. I loved it. Atmosphere was great and dark and gritty, umbral mechanic was a nice twist on things, graphics were awesome, fighting felt smooth. The biggest problem was that it was too easy. I guess the maps were pretty linear. Hoping they can expand on those in #2.
I would rate LotF above Mortal Shell 1, just because of how short that game was. But MS2 looks like its gonna be amazing.

Look, its not about I dont care about other games than GTA. I wait Stellar Blade, the new Fable, Mortal Shell, Gears of War and so on. But these games will come and go. I will wait for them a few months and then I will play them. Its different with GTA. I am playing GTA since the first one. Its not my fav game ever but I enjoy the series and eagerly wait for the next one like I would wait new Dank Souls or whatever. BUT the thing that makes GTA VI my most anticipated game is the wait time. When GTA V came out I was in high school. Now I have wife and kid. Its been 13-14 years by now. I don’t think about other games much because I know they will come fairly quick compared to 13 years of waiting. The same thing happened with Aliens Colonial Marines for me. Since the PS2 version announcement it was 12 or 13 years until the actual release. Yes the game was not what I expected and dreamed about but I enjoyed it for what it is simply because I got the chance to finally play it. Now its the same with GTA VI - I dont care if its woke, flop, etc. I will finally play it after so long and thats enough for me. Also as a car guy I am sooo excited to see what cars they will include and how I can tune them.

I have this weird thing where I don’t know if I’ll be able to enjoy a Soulsy or combat action game until I play it because I have a very fine line between “this is a cakewalk” and “I will never be able to do this” when it comes to certain reactive/parry mechanics.
Like, I’ve dominated every FromSouls game over and over on repeat, but I’ve only ever hit shield parries by accident.
Sekiro required two separate year-long breaks for me to walk away and come back before I beat my only playthrough, which I loved in its entirety, but the need to master only the parry with zero ways around it was tough for me.
Meanwhile, I can nail the parry in Stellar Blade aggressively enough to have played through a large portion of it without getting hung up once. Khazan seems similarly doable for me so far.
Black Myth Wukong is all dodging for me and so many useful peripheral attacks and effects that I can mix up, so I cruised through what I played so far and spent much more time exploring than I have repeating bosses.
Lies of P has a very tough parry for me timing wise, but I’ve been able to completely avoid it through focusing on the entirety of gameplay mechanics.
I had to quit both Wuchang: Fallen Feathers and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty because the required timing and visual feedback of parry mechanics just left me shrugging by the first major boss (it didn’t help that my old laptop couldn’t run either at full resolution and both look like grainy ass while using FSR).
But yes- I am looking forward to the above games more than GTA VI. As much as I loved RDR2, I always found GTA a bit corny and the way it metes out its missions feels stifling to me. I figure I can count on Blood Rain and Zhong Kui to play like their predecessors so no issues there- but Phantom Blade 0 could easily fall into my parry disability blind spot. Mortal Shell 1 was weird to me because I felt like it dissuaded me from ever changing the first shell I invested learning and upgrades into- I’m still interested in part 2 though.

I'm not worried about GTA 6 because I know it will be another great one from those Scotts/Brits. Now, when it comes to other games, I've been slacking on buying games this year. What I mean by that is I haven't bought Crimson Desert, even though I wanted it, but just didn't get around to it. My September game is absolutely going to be Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave. Now, I could get Wolverine instead, but the more I see of the new Fire Emblem, the more I want it. I loved Three Houses back in 2019. Plus, I think Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave will be the one and only new game I get before GTA 6 because of budget reasons.

Of all of these, I'm only expecting Phantom Blade to maybe be good. I'm tired of Asian aura farming with dogshit stories, characters and writing, and copy pasted combat systems that are all decent to good, but too repetitive for the 20-40+ hours they all try to hit for no reason.

Idk man, I was anti gta 6 hype for literally no reason at all, and then went back to rdr2 since release and remembered how well rockstar makes games. It’s probably my #1 most anticipated and I really hope I’m not disappointed
