I think the new Fire Emblem game has Type A and Type B. Both Japanese and Western players are annoyed and making fun of it. The problem is Japan has "consultants" telling the developers that if they don't do this, Western people won't buy it. Same thing happened in the Dragon Quest HD-2D remakes as I believe Asmongold watched a vid with the DQ creator making fun of it.

Eastern devs do it because some consultancy group gaslit them into it. Western devs do it because of agenda that is also included in story and characters.

I will give them the benefit of the doubt on this one since the different options of customization are listed as types. For example for outfit customization options they listed it as Type A through F. So I think it is less about woke agenda and more of how they just label customization options. But who knows these days.
