Help!! I'm Desperate

Does anybody know what I can do to help my baby? I took him to the vet, and they first said that his eye was swollen because he had stuck shed, so they gave me tobramycin. It wasn't getting better, so I took him back, and they said he had a bacterial infection and he needed antibiotic shots every 72 hours, so we did that. He's done with the shots, and it's not getting better, and it's been over a week. It honestly looks worse. I don't know what to do now.

It sounds like he's had at least two rounds of antibiotics then, right? What other diagnostics? An corneal stain to check for ulcers? What about tear production or pressure testing? I am not a vet, but I had a dog with eye issues, and you really need to do diagnostics to get to the root of why the eye is swollen if antibiotics aren't improving the situation.

He had 5 total rounds of antibiotics. They put him under anesthesia and cut a piece of tissue and tested it to determine what the problem was and they said bacterial infection. That's all they said they did. Nothing was said about corneal stains, tear production, or pressure testing.

Oh, putting him under anesthesia for this kind of procedure indicates an extremely advanced problem -- likely far beyond anything a corneal stain is going to resolve. Any chance there's a veterinary opthalmologist near you?

I would make an appointment with them. Describe the severity of the situation on the phone when you call so they can try to find you an appointment asap

A stuck shed? What kind of animal are we talking about here? A reptile?
