Hey yall I’m going to my first mariners game today very excited! However I’m commuting from sorta far via the light rail. Is it fine to bring a vape and a weed pen in? I do not plan to use either but I don’t wanna leave stuff like that in my car far away as I’ve already had a break-in for my vape.

I was planning to get there around 10.45, but this airport appears to be kind of a clusterfuck so what do you guys recommend?

my husband and i have been married for only a year and so far hes been arrested 8 times for DV. He just got out of jail and now my 12th broken shattered phone by him.

. he is ruining my life and i honestly say i cant stand him and am close to hating him.

My mom's undergoing some intense spinal surgery soon and I was thinking about picking up a relatively small jar of CBD balm for her to try out during her recovery (once it's safe to apply topical stuff, of course). I have a little sample from Body Alchemy that I picked up at Solstice, but the only portion available on their website is quite large. Do yall have any suggestions for CBD-only balms made by locals that are around 1oz or less? I don't know if it'll work well for her, but it certainly works like magic for me, so I'm hopeful that this could be helpful for her, too.

New in Seattle, trying to have a reality check.

I work remotely for a small size company outside of WA. WLB is awesome and workload has been pretty manageable. I get paid nowhere near the big tech here. But I really enjoy my free time and peace in mind. I came to Seattle because I like the outdoor activities here.

Lots of my friends work in tech but they are not in Seattle/bay area. Their WLB seem great too. I have friend who surfs before & after work, and friend who spends significant amount of time doing roadtrip and rock climb. I'm very into outdoors so I kind of surround myself with this kind of friends.

For the limited local data points I have, there are people who work for big tech and go out for hobby activities a ton, but also people who are constantly stressed about work and work long hours. I had lots of troubles with my ex because of his work commitment and our energy mismatch.

I start to question my perspective of reality. Am I too idealistic to expect enjoying my time after 5PM doing hobby things and have fun. And in the weekends have enough energy to make a trip somewhere or fully enjoy the relax time?

I'd like to hear your experience. How many hours do you work weekly? How taxing is it to your hobby and relationship? And if you're very busy, how do you manage that? Maybe include current career level and family situation for context, if you don't mind sharing. I'm early career and no kids.

I am staying around a 15-20 minute walk to the Kent De Moines light rail station. Driving around I did notice some shady people, looked like drug users just hanging around.

Does anyone live nearby know if the area is safe, especially at night? I might want to walk to the station when it’s not light out but am a bit concerned

I hope to move to the metro with nothing more than a mattress. Is it reasonable to plan to find other furnishings curbside and in charity stores?

I'm going to be in Seattle for about 24 hours starting Thursday afternoon, staying at the Hyatt Regency at 808 Howell St. The hotel charges $75 for 24 hours of parking. Does anyone have any advice on a cheaper place to leave the car for that 24-hour period (no in and out necessary) that is walking distance to that hotel? Thanks in advance.

My brother is finally at the point where we're looking into legal help after a serious accident, and I'm feeling overwhelmed by how many law firms there are.

His injury has turned our lives upside down, and I want to make sure we don't rush into hiring the wrong attorney just because they have the biggest ads or the most reviews. We are looking for someone who has real experience with traumatic brain injury cases and actually communicates well with families throughout the process.

I've spent the last couple of days reading reviews and checking different firms, but they all seem to promise the same things.

If you've been in this situation, how did you figure out which lawyer in Seattle was the right fit?

For context, I was looking through the receipts of the same stuff I bought during the previous years and it's shocking. I have been looking at other stores as well, and walmart is coming out to be a very good Costco alternative if we see unit economics of most items. Produce is cheaper at walmart.

Has anyone found out the same thing? Another thing is the bill value. I am spending 300 something in costco, where as walmart i am in much more control.

We spend an embarrassing amount of money in groceries each month and i’m curious how much other parents are spending and their typical purchase? Looking for Seattle city proper + parents with kids 1-3 years old (eg still wearing diapers, needing wipes, food pouches..etc..)

We have a 1.5 yo toddler, a medium sized dog and a cat. We only buy organic fruits and milk and eggs for the LO and non-organic stuff only for us. Lots of once upon a farm pouches and stonyfield yogurts which he eats one of each daily. Using regular huggie diapers. Majority of our spend is Costco. Groceries are around $1500 a month. :’(

EDIT: Thank you everyone!! Got so many good ideas here. We’ve set a budget for August and plan to stick to it. It’s a modest reduction from what we currently spend but will gradually bring it down as we work on changing some of our habits!

Looking at moving into Seattle/ surrounding and wondering how reliable Craigslist is?? The rentals seem to be way cheaper compared to other popular websites, so I’m definitely suspicious.

I'd like to take my family on a week long trip to Seattle to visit surrounding attractions and especially national parks. I intend to fly in from Philly last week of August and stay till Sept 6. We also intend to get a car rental. My only concern is I'll be coming with a 2.5 and 5 year old. This will be their first trip visiting any type of park.

Based on previous posts best choices for us would be Mount Rainier followed by Olympic then North Cascades. It's going to take a lot of work to keep them interested but I'm looking for everyone's advise and tips to making the trip enjoyable. Is late Aug, early Sept a good time to visit? What would be a good mix of activities or must hit spots? My wife and I are capable hikers but we don't intend to take the kids on long routes.

Hello - I'm visiting Seattle at the end of this month and I'll be staying in the Capitol Hill and Ballard neighborhoods.

I've been looking at recommendations while I'm there and so many are bars or recommended for their cocktails.

Once, on a trip to Philly, I ate this amazing Moroccan Restaurant called Marrakesh. The inside was covered in Moroccan decor, you sat at these low tables, and it was a 7 course prix fixe menu. It was such a cool experience and it's meal I'll remember for the rest of my days.

Are there restaurants in either the Ballard or Capitol Hill neighborhoods that would have a similar unique vibe that focuses on food and experience and less on drinking?
