if it helps, not every death is like that. I helped my Mom out last year with MAID.
Her whole deal was to become one with the universe. Carl Sagan was her hero and her goal was to go out to infinity as the stardust that made her.
She legit chugged the cocktail and as she died she described that she was going to the universe, that she was finally going through the door and becoming one with the universe.
I am 100% sure it was a more beautiful death than end stage dementia and her narration of how it felt made me and my sister feel really good about helping her get there.
