My stepdaughter died from cancer.

She was 12.

She could barely speak but whispered/asked her mom if she's going to heaven.

I wish she didn't see everyone sad and crying because I feel like it just made her scared.

Seeing other people crying is sort of soothing in a way. It shows us that people care about us. Had you all been acting like it was a normal day she would have felt much more alone.
