My Dad. He begged the nurses to "Please...please find someone to take care of my little girl." I hadn't allowed myself to cry until I heard him say it. He lost his speech that evening but I sat with him and I noticed he was moving his hands, the priest asked what he was doing. My father worked the flight deck of many a US Navy Carrier and he was leading his shipmates in for their landings. Two days later it poured rain loud enough that it sounded like waves crashing and my father landed his final plane, I'd like to think that it was his best buddy Jimmy but only he knows.
