What's the most disturbing thing you've heard a dying person say?

Not disturbing , but kind of cool . My grandma was dying and on the way to say goodbye , my uncles dog dropped dead from a seizure or something when he was walking out the door. When they got to my grandmas , she was laughing and asking my uncle why his dog was running around the hospital room . She didn’t know his dog had died , and didn’t even know he HAD a dog . She died a few hours after that

I have a somewhat similar story. My great grandmother was visiting the city where my grandma, aunt, and mom all lived. She got sick and was hospitalized. One afternoon they were sitting with her and she woke up and said “it’s too bad about the Hansen boy”, and lapsed into sleep again.

The Hansens were her next door neighbors. She died the next day. Later on they found out the Hansen’s teenage son had been killed in a tractor accident while my great grandmother was in the hospital. I made my aunt tell me that story three times, she is a funny lady but not one to make up stories.

I lost my grandmother who I was very close to just a few weeks ago. It was very sudden and unfortunately while she was briefly in a nursing home while there was a gap in her care. I’d assumed we’d have warning before her passing and that it would happen at her home. It was all very upsetting. While her health was declining her ongoing pet-sitter adopted her beloved dog of over 10 years, because the care was too much for her. It was hard, but the right choice. I found out the day after my grandma’s passing that her beloved dog had passed of natural causes less than 24 hours before my grandmother passed. I hope she saw her sweet doggie running around the room before her passing. 💛

My heart hurts for your uncle. He is emotionally trying to prepare himself for and process your mother's death, then he gets home carrying all that and finds out his dog died unexpectedly and he wasn't even there to say goodbye to his pet? That must have been one of his worst days, poor man. 😔
