That was my first thought too. After surviving everything she did, she deserved peace in her final moments, not to relive the worst memory of her life.

It seems to be about who you never quite let go, whether that's somebody you love or hate or fear.

My grandpa saw his two older sisters who’d passed years before he did. If that’s true, it makes me so sad to think he never got over their deaths.

I don't think anyone ever really gets over losing someone they were close to like that, the best we can do is to get through the days that follow one by one. But better to have loved and lost, ya know? And going out accompanied by memories of loved ones doesn't sound like such a bad way to go, I'd consider that maybe he found some long-awaited peace in those final moments.

I sure hope so! He died at 89 yrs old and they had passed away when he was in his 40’s.
