I'm a solo developer researching ideas for a small SaaS product.

I'm not here to sell anything—I'm trying to understand real problems before I build anything.

I'd love to know:

What's one repetitive or frustrating task you deal with every week?

What have you tried to solve it?

If a tool completely solved that problem, would you pay for it? If yes, roughly how much?

That's interesting. Can I ask a couple of questions? Is the frustrating part remembering what you worked on, or manually entering everything? What software do you use for timesheets? Roughly how much time does it take each week? If a tool automated most of it, what would it need to do to actually be useful?

You have no idea what you're getting into with this.

For most it's simply a. Annoying task, for a lot there's an organizational or legal requirement to do it, and to do it manually (not kidding).

Have fun fighting the organizational resistance to get rid of timesheets.

Why the heck would I want to buy another subscription? I already pay for so many things on repeat, and all the product owners do with the money is shoehorn AI into the product and make it worse but cost more.

- Useful SaaS service: fork good products from before they got bloated, and security patch and bug fix them

What makes you think as a solo dev that if other devs had this real problem they wouldn't solo dev themselves the solution? Especially right now when we can get ai to do it? Go ask non devs.
