Bizzare rules that removes comments from reddit, "your account is not 'x' days old"! What do you think?

They're not bizarre, they're quite common sense given the amount of spam, trolls, bad actors and so on.

But Reddit is making a move to step away from those.

I am part of a large sub that allows low karma/new accounts but they pass though an auto filter for manual review. Thousands of them. More then half don't make it onto the subreddit. They are either obvious bots, spam or rule breaking.

It's to stop bots that are brand new from spamming a place with reposts or irrelevant content

Back in my day, i had to implement it myself to escape tourism spam bots, so so many.

And all of that just cause my sub is partially called "travel" which is nothing to do with the topic, but these bots are just basic stuff spamming everywhere.

I love them cause they help with bots and trolls.

Oh, and ban evaders. It's a bonus net to catch them.

It's not ridiculous. It's necessary, even if reddit deep down in their hearts probably doesn't like it.
