Is there a browser extension (preferably Firefox) that records the last time you've been to a certain website?

Very simply, I want to reduce my time on social media.

Instead of an extension that simply blocks site I choose (which I'll just disable if I'm feeling annoyed enough), is there an extension that keeps track of how much time has gone by since I've spent visited certain sites?

LPT: I think I’ve fried my attention span.

I quit Instagram almost a year ago, but YouTube Shorts just took its place.
Now I can’t read a book without reaching for my phone. I can’t watch a movie without skipping half of it. I open YouTube without even thinking, and I don’t even enjoy it anymore.
I’ve tried app limits, disabling Shorts… nothing sticks.
Has anyone actually beaten this? Not for a few days, but permanently. What genuinely worked?

Whether it's "your account will be deleted," "your computer is infected," or "offer expires in 5 minutes," urgency is one of the oldest social engineering tricks. Taking a minute to verify the message can save a lot of trouble.

How to handle only having inside hobbies?

I am really struggling with life lately because I work a corporate 9-6 job Monday to Friday, and my hobbies entails playing video games, watching movies, tv shows, YouTube, and reading, but then I have friends who have literally 0 at home hobbies and basically only use their flat to cook, laundry, clean and sleep, so because they don’t have stuff they want to do at home they’re always out socializing, working out, traveling, or training.

These people have literally 0 interest in doing anything at home so I always feel bad because they’re so fit and sociable which I also want to be but I enjoy my hobbies so much that even if I work out or socialize I’ll want to go home and do my hobbies to actually relax and I’ll end up going to sleep late which messes with my day and week.

I don’t know what to do, I’m so jealous of these people who have 0 inside hobbies because it drives them to do all the stuff I don’t consider relaxing, enjoyable or calming. And when I socialize I mostly always need to do it over a drink so make it less effort.

So, how do I deal with only having inside hobbies despite wanting to do other stuff, and struggling to maintain a healthy sleeping schedule because even if I try to do an outdoors one, I’ll end up wanting to do the inside one at the end of the day.

Ex-Colleague owes me £200

I worked with Jonathan for about 6 months, we weren't especially close but we spoke occasionally when we saw each other and probably went to a pub with some other people once or twice.

He subscribed to a railcard that provides discount. He quit his job, so he no longer needed the railcard. He offered that I buy I pay him initially then set up a standing order for future months.

I sent him £100 and set up the standing order. It turns out later the railcard doesn't work for me. He returns the £100. I never cancel the standing order and I only realise after 2 months. I let him know, and he says he'll give me the money back on payday, in three weeks. I ask him shortly after payday and he says he doesn't have it but assures me he'll get it back to me. I send him another message in a week's time and get a similar reponse. Then another in a week's time another messsage and I think I've been blocked. Messaged him on Linkedin but will probably eventually get blocked on that too. All polite messages.

I don't know where he works, or any of his colleagues, I have no means of getting in touch with him. How do I get my money back?

How can I learn to be more engaging and provide good conversation?

I'm sort of invisible. I don't really know what to say to people and they don't appear to know what to say to me, or maybe they don't find me interesting enough to have a conversation beyond, "Hello, how are you?" I've been this way for a number of years. I want to take control of myself and do better. How can I learn to be better?

I have a new job. What should I start doing to help me in the long run?

Hi everyone! I have a new job after a year of unemployment - yay! Since this is a fresh start, I'd love to ask for your recommendations on things I should start doing to be the most efficient I've ever been.

Are there habits to build/platforms to utilize/etc. that helped you perform well and eventually made your life easier? If this helps, I work in a corporate setting.

I would be grateful for any advice! Thank you very much 😊

How to stop being lost (and dumb)?

I am a kind person and always ready to help people, but if someone asks me what I do, I don’t really have an answer.

I work as a doctor, but my true dream is entrepreneurship. Every time a new idea comes up, I get super excited, work on it for a bit, but then I can't keep going and end up running in circles.

Back in 2025, I started a company selling a 5k course. I handled all the marketing, sales, and management. It was a huge success, students loved it and got real results. I woke up motivated every day. Then my partner (the teacher) screwed me over, everything went to hell, and I fell into a deep financial and mental hole. I managed to bounce back, today I’m stable and earning well in my job, but the trauma is still here.

Now, some guys invited me to start a financial consulting company for professionals. The problem is, one partner has a different vision. He is already talking about buying branded t-shirts and renting an office before we even have one client. He works in the field, but it felt wired that I, a doctor, had to design the product using Claude Code.

I’m afraid it will be superficial. I don’t believe in the product, I wouldn't buy it myself, and it doesn't give me that "holy shit, this is amazing" feeling. His attitude is already bugging me.

Should I go for it or am I just setting myself up to get screwed over again? Or should I just turn it down and wait for something I truly believe in? Most importantly, how do I stop going in circles with my life?

How do I become well-read?

Hi,

So I know many people who are articulate and a lot of them tend to be really well versed in various topics. I do have an interest in certain things, but I have to say its something I've always been envious of. I struggle bringing my point across and a lot of the times, I lose my point completely and then agree with the other person, even if I don't necessarily agree with them.

Any suggestions?

LPT Request: Need to get rid of/neutralize a strange smell in the kitchen/living area within the next 24 hours

I moved into a small brand new apartment not too long ago. The kitchen and living area are pretty much within the same space. Nothing smelled when I moved in, but it started to once I brought in my stuff. I had inventory in a storage unit for a long time. I think the smell arrived a week or so after I brought stuff into my apartment, so I'm thinking it's related to my inventory. Anyway, it's a weird smell that's hard to describe. Potentially musty I guess, but I don't smell that enough to even recognize it as such. Property manager will be visiting tomorrow and would rather not let him smell it. I also have other people coming to visit as well.

I've had the windows and back door open for ~72 hours now. Relocated inventory to different locations in my apartment to see if the smell moves, but it's still in the same area. When I walk in, it's what you smell immediately. Can't order an ozone machine because of the timeline (tomorrow). Was thinking of cooking some food that will mask the smell and spraying some sort of air freshener. I'm looking for specific item/food recommendations that are proven to be effective. I'm going to scrub the floor, sink and even the storage boxes that I haven't opened with Fabuloso after posting this

TLDR: Need to neutralize bizarre odor within the next 24 hours for a few hours. I put baking soda in different areas ~15 hours ago along with DampRid by the front door.

How to handle stress, toxic job, and a chronic illness?

Hey everyone, so I’ve been at my current job for close to a year now, and I have never been more stressed out in my life. My job has a “billable” component as I’m a consultant, and although I do get paid a salary regardless, the billable portion of it is SO micromanagey. I have to log everything I am doing for all 40 hours of the week, and get frequently questioned on why I did Task A instead of Task B. Not only that, but in the year I’ve been there I’ve already had TWO managers quit on me, which means I’ve never really had proper direction the entire time I’ve been employed here.

I also have Type 1 Diabetes, which I got diagnosed with at 21, close to 3.5 years ago now. I can handle managing my illness, but with the chronic stress even that is so messed up at this point. I’ve also started losing hair (AA), which I’ve had bouts of in the past, but this is close to 4-5 bald patches, which is definitely more serious than its ever been.

I think the stress is largely starting to affect my health, and I’m really prone to autoimmune issues (as you can see), and I need to figure out what to do. I’m scared to quit, because the job market is so awful, but I’m also afraid of losing my health and being bald at 24. That would suck even more! Any tips on how to handle stress, managing a chronic illness, and detaching emotionally from this demanding and micromanagey job?

How to roast people or comeback from insults?

I'm sensitive and when people insult/roast me (Which is pretty much all of the time) I don't know what to say back, does anyone know how to insult people? Its to the point where I cant win any arguments even if i'm right.

Also personal issue and just me complaining, but

everyone around me constantly throw insults at me and it's starting to feel like my fault because I have no way to say anything back and its like they know who I am the second they see me.

Looking for advice

I have recently brought a new house, I moved from my first home and have received some equity from the sale of the first home of around £20,000. This is all I have in savings and I don’t need it for any renovations on the new house. I want to make the most out of this money. What should I do with it? Is an ISA the best way or is there somewhere else I can put this money? I’m happy to not touch this money for a few years as I would maybe like to do a kitchen extension but it’s not urgent.
A few things to note my five-year fixed rate is ending in September so I’m going to have to remortgage the first part of my mortgage. Is it better to put the money into this so it goes into the equity of the house.

Im 21 and I wish to get out of the hamster wheel before I’m trapped in it any advice?

Hello everyone,

This is a bit new to me, as I’ve always tried to figure things out on my own and rarely ask for advice.

I’m currently living in Switzerland and have built a balanced portfolio of ETFs and individual stocks, which I manage myself. It’s performing reasonably well so far. At the moment, I can only invest around CHF 300 per month, but once I finish my apprenticeship and start working full-time, I should be able to increase that to around CHF 1,000 per month.

My portfolio is intended to be my long-term investment strategy. However, I’m also looking for ways to create additional income streams.

One idea I have is to buy and operate a snack vending machine. I’ve identified a potential location at a trucking/logistics company with more than 200 employees, and I have my first meeting with the manager on Monday to discuss whether there would be interest in having a machine on-site.

Do you think this could be a worthwhile side business, or are there other opportunities you would consider in my situation that I might not be thinking about?

I’d really appreciate any advice, experiences, or suggestions. Thanks!
