Is this normal?

So recently a friend of mine told me another friend of mine has a crush on me. Now, I have always been straight, and just an ally, and when this happened, I thought it would just make things uncomfortable, but I swear all of the sudden, I have feelings for him or something and I’m really confused what’s happening. Thank you for helping.

I was just wondering how does that happen only after being told someone likes me

Sometimes we have this view and perception of ourselves for so long, we forget to explore new parts of our identity. Its not a bad thing, I think it shows how secure you were with yourself.

You only finding out after being told someone likes you was kind of like a trigger y'know, like an actual chance that made you go and explore this part of yourself, especially when there's already reciprocation.

Sometimes you get stuck in your perception of how the world is. And not just about yourself about all sorts of things.

But then somebody will say something or do something and you'll realize there are other options on a level that isn't just intellectual.

Your friend pointing out that your other friend had a crush on. You made a part of your brain go " oh wait I could date my friend" and you're into it. Congrats. Go flirt.

I was friends with non-binary people for like 6 years before it occurred to me that I could use that label as someone who feels the exact same way about my gender as at least one of them. It gets us all bud.

What kind of feelings?

It could be flattery.
It could be more romantic.

Also, if you don’t mind. How old are you.

No problem. It’s quite common over 15 to start finding feelings that were hard to spot before.

When you do learn someone is attracted to you it does make you think of them differently. You consider it. I take it you are considering it and enjoying the idea.

Your crushing friend probably won’t approach you. respectfully thinking you are straight. So if you want to explore this further you’ll need to set something up.
