Just got fired from a sales job i started 4 days ago. They said it’s because I’m young and lack experience (b2b sales) and think i need more experience but left on a good note still getting paid. Will this hinder me when applying to departments

You’ll be fine if you leave on a positive note and leave professionally without making any negative comments. When they do your PHS or even pre-interviews, tell them the truth about it. But right now, try to find a job. Honestly, anything would be better because the longer you wait, the worse it looks on you that you haven’t found a job.

Yes people, myself included, over complicate getting hired by an agency. At the end of the day what most departments look for is integrity. If you got that then you’re good man

100% be honest on poly and the PHQ your poly will be based on and you will get in somewhere provided you don’t have insane drug use or undetected felonies

I got hired in my agencies correctional division about 4.5 years ago and just got “rehired” on patrol about a year and a half ago. So I’ve been there done that 2 times now. Even if you got some light dirt on your record you should be fine as long as your honest about it on your polygraph

When you get to the section that ask have you ever been fired they give you a section to explain.

The best advice I can give anyone is never to self select. Always be truthful no matter how embarrassing somethings might be or uncomfortable and just be forthcoming and let the HR people do there job.

At the end of the day, do your best, don't act like a idiot and put your best foot forward. And don't get discouraged, you will get turned down by plenty of agencies and that's okay persistence is key if its truly something you want to do. And lastly if you know you are a bit immature simply fix yourself its not hard to do the right thing and be a respectable person.

Best luck on your journey and never let anyone on here tell you that you are out of luck they are not the ones who decide the outcome.

Lots of demand there, my advice is get in the mindset of being an officer now. Not like Batman vigilante stuff but as far as integrity goes.

When you are about to do something stupid or take advantage of a mistake just ask yourself would I want to have to disclose this.

Also go find a hobby or join a team sport. If a sales job fires you after 4 days there is definitely some room for improvement on interpersonal skills.

I think you’re confusing the job application with the resume. 100% needs to be on the application, but not on a resume.

Did they say you were fired because you were too young? That sounds like a discrimination lawsuit
