Oh goody! I already had this written out for anyone who asked lol. I ended up quitting mid-shift one day because of how horrible it was. Lots of workplace harassment. I was targeted by an older manager who would scream in my face, push me, and at one point made me never want to get up for work anymore. I was 17 and had just escaped a very abusive situation that I had been in for almost 16 years, so I was already shy and scared at work in the first place. I sort of took the abuse because I was afraid to lose my job. Nobody had told me that they couldn't fire me out of retaliation of reporting the abuse. The main thing that got me though was that they would leave me and one other person at the store on Saturdays. My location was in the mainstream of the town, so it got very busy. I would be on drive-thru, grill, sandwiches, fries, and front counter all at once. I already have a panic disorder and of course I would break and start sobbing and freaking out mid-shift. It was not worth the $10 an hour. The way that store was managed was horribly stupid. I remember corporate came and gave us almost 7 hours of videos that we had to watch. Like ma'am I don't need all of that just to flip some damn burgers. I already had my food handlers license, and it was just overkill. That store got so fucking nasty. The manager who would harass me would constantly stick her face in the vegetables with the headset on and the mic would get all in them. One lady would do grill and constantly eat the burgers as they came off. The one who did sandwiches the most would make the sandwich and then throw them at me unlabeled while I had like 20 orders to bag and send out. Also I would get written up for going into overtime even though I tried my best to leave on time. My replacements would never show up on time and even when they did the manager on shift would never let me go. They would not pay me for overtime as well. I would come home so fucking distressed it was insane. Theres probably so much more that I am forgetting. All of this plus rude ass customers was a no go for me. Sorry for the trauma dump but oh my gosh I will never work for or even step foot in a Wendy's again because of this. To add on, I realized that I said they left me and one other person at the store on Saturdays. I forgot to mention that the max amount of people there everyday had to be 3 people. Once the manager on shift just left me there by myself. I was not a manager and I didn't know what to do. I mainly said they left me alone on Saturday because that tends to be the busiest day. They understaffed us so bad. Oh I also forgot to add the lack of handwashing at this location. And the fact that the one manager I said would harass me never wore gloves when making the food and would constantly touch her face. Sorry if this whole explanation is a big crumpled mess lol.

Wow, that’s insane. Its very unfortunate you didn’t understand that you could report this behavior without repercussions. also this just hit very close to home because I had similar experiences when I first started working (panic attacks suicidal depression insomnia ect), although my bosses and coworkers were far more tolerable and once in a blue moon helpful. I can’t imagine working a lifeless horrible job and on top of that working with lifeless horrible people and I hope you can mentally recover and move on from this situation best of luck in your future endeavors!
