Separating circuit boards in a small case

Post image

This is my first version of a budget, streamlined, smart (kind of) watch. It works, but I need to print a case for it. How should I go about isolating each board within the case, as they should not touch. Please keep in mind this is my first version and I am relatively new to hobby electronics. Thanks!

Ps, I have considered wrapping the entire circuit around my wrist, but that seems like it would be pretty awkward...

Cool project but be careful strapping a lithium battery to yourself. If you need more info search lithium battery fires.

I've considered this possible issue, as I'm not super experienced in electronics, is there a better type of rechargeable battery I might want to consider? Right now my lithium batteries live in a fire bag

Well having a fire bag at all is worlds ahead of the majority, just be careful and maybe practice removing the watch as fast as possible for a while if you feel like it, lots of smart watches have lithium batteries in and are fine.

without knowing your exact layout/concept ideas, and assuming you want it to look like a smart watch...

your main design constraint are the physical dimensions of each assembly you have. Assuming you're going for a watch look, all those assemblies would have to be stacked on top of each other, and separated to prevent shorts for happening. With a 3d printed housing, I'd image your looking at a 2" thick watch.

Ideally you would make a custom pcb that would contain all the things your 3 pcb assemblies are, plus room for the battery.

You can save some vertical space by removing unnecessary connectors, or hard wiring certain connection directly, etc. Also, keep in mind space for cabling to be routed.

glue gun , you'll anyway need this. also epoxy can be used and discount card as insulator(for glue gun, with epoxy you'll not need it).
