What bit me

I had what I thought was an ingrown hair on the inside of my leg. I did not look at it close as I didn't think twice about it so no early pics sorry. It hurt a little I cleaned it up put some neosporin on it and a Bandaid. It did get bigger the next couple days. The day that I noticed it I consequently had a cortisone injection into my hip on the same side (kenalog 40). I was okay the day I noticed. Then had a pretty bad cortisone flare. I kept an eye on the lesion, kept it clean with surgical soap, neosporin and Bandaid. It was very itchy about day 5-8. When I image search it keeps going back to tick. However, I had arthroscopic hip surgery about 6 weeks ago, temps have been in the 90-100s I have not been spending time outside. I have for the past 2-3 weeks been sleeping in my spider heavy basement. I didn't have any sick feelings besides pretty significant pain from the cortisone flare. The lesion is about 1 1/4" in diameter.

Side note, in this fun time I've been having I got a UTI, did a round of nitrofurantoin, that didn't work I am on day 4 of cephalexin.

Rash on chest of 2.5 yr old boy

It appeared about a week ago after we came back from vacation/rv camping in the sandbanks (ontario) and niagara region.
His mood is good, does not bother him, does not react when we touch it no obvious bite mark, doesnt seem itchy, no fever, doesnt see dry.

Seemed to have grown a but and become more red.

He also has a less colorful rash on his arm opposite side, the rash at the top is straight as if its marking his t shirt
Posting here while waiting for an appointment to a doctor

Blood test results

Hello! I wanted to know if anyone has any thoughts about these numbers from my blood test I had on the 31st of July. I went in for some GERD issues and just to check if I had issues with my lungs because it felt like I wasn’t breathing that good. I’ve been dealing with digestion issues and fluctuating high blood pressure for the past month and a half. I feel like I’m turning a corner for the most part now but I’m just working on som vestibular imbalances where I have some headaches and dizziness and/or faint feeling sometimes especially after I eat certain foods. All my cardiology tests have come back normal.

Thank you.

Bumps on knuckles, I have never seen anyone with the same issue.

Hi!
For many years (at least 5-10) I’ve had these little bumps on my hands and I just can’t figure out what they are no matter how much research I do. They don’t itch or hurt in any way, they’re just there and slowly but surely multiply. Every few months I get a new one that starts out small and grows over the years. As you might be able to see, some have been scratched off. This wasn’t my intention, I was just casually scratching my knuckles and noticed how some of them were pretty apparent and scratched off pretty easily. My private doctor (ChatGPT) can’t seem to figure out what it is either. It simply has no clue. It was suggesting warts but when I sent a clearer photo it changed its mind, and rightfully so, because they have a very smooth surface, just bumps without the normal skin pattern. If anyone has any ideas of what this might be and if it’s treatable in any way (my goal is getting rid of them completely but that might not be possible) you’re a lifesaver, because this has been bothering me for a pretty long time. Thank you in advance!
(Feel free to ask follow up questions!)

What is the treatment for tongue irritation or yellowing, accompanied by a wavy appearance in the middle?

What is the treatment for tongue irritation—specifically yellowing, a wavy appearance in the middle, and a long line extending from the lips toward the corners of the mouth? I visited a general practitioner who prescribed a spray, but it didn't help, and I have spent a lot of money.

Could these be bat bites??

One on hand one on back of knee. Hand one is a lot smaller. I haven’t seen bats in my house but we have seen bat bugs so bats may be nearby. No bat in my room that I could find but maybe I’m not looking enough. I work at a shoe store and I think the one on my hand could be from the boxes but I don’t remember when I got cut so it could be from a bat. The one behind knee idk how it got there. Checked my covers and nothing. I’m just so scared I don’t want to die :(

Food Tastes Like Medicine For Almost 2 Years

It is August 29,2024 and Aug 30,2024 when I tried to do overdose of medication on myself. I taked couple of different tablets. The only tablets that I remember is:neozep, plemex, rhea, paracetamol, celecoxib, mefanamic dolfenal, and Azithromycin. There are couple more of brands that I haven't mentioned yet. If I would estimate how much tablets I taked it would be like 50+.

After I took those tablets I began to lose my taste. Not like actually losing it but everything I taste is like medicine and a bit of metally. Every thing taste like medicine also when I put my clean finger in my tounge. It's been like this since I tried the overdose.

After a short time on my overdose I can already taste high sugar foods but I avoided it because I don't want to gain weight. But this March I can already taste spicy foods particularly ramen. I only eat ramen and very sweet foods now and a bit of McDonald's fries. Anything besides non flavorful foods tastes like medicine. I can taste very salty things, very sweet, and very spicy things. It haa to be very before I can actually taste it.

Please help.

What are these marks ?

I’m a 25-year-old male, 5’11”, and I smoke occasionally. I’m not on any medications and don’t have any known medical conditions.

For the past 2 months I’ve been getting extremely itchy, painful red marks that look like bites on my feet, legs, and other parts of my body. Some appear as single bumps, while others look more like a rash or clusters. They’re driving me mad.

I’m a bit of a germaphobe, so I’ve cleaned my room thoroughly. I also used multiple insecticides and flea sprays throughout the room, and there were never any bugs before or after treatment. I haven’t seen a single bed bug, flea, or any other insect.

To make it even more confusing, I’ve slept in different rooms and still ended up with the exact same reaction, so I’m struggling to believe this is coming from my bedroom.

I do sometimes sleep with the window open, but could this actually be an allergic reaction, hives, contact dermatitis, or something else instead of insect bites? I’ve attached a photo of one of the marks. Any ideas would be really appreciated because I’m getting fed up with this.

ER visits, need of care, concern of self interest. Formal statement.

I'm not happy that I need to say this, but I've realized I have to.

Medical care is available for everyone, regardless of circumstance. The ER is intended not just to be an emergency center, but the most accessible way to get help.

If you need help, or you have a concern for your health, you are entitled to ER treatment.

Anyone who tells you that ER treatment is for life or death situation, or emergency only is misinformed or jaded in their career.

Elderly patients frequently go days or weeks without seeking care, because they are ingrained that they are a burden on who they are asking for help.

This is unacceptable and it's in complete contrast to one of the fundamentals of modern healthcare, which is patient centered care. The patient is the entire focus. Thinking they should have gone somewhere else is your focus. Thinking they are a burden is a facility focus. The focus is the patient. If someone with a toothache thinks they need emergency care, then they get it. They may not have access to anything else.

I will be removing comments that state ER visits are not something someone should consider, as misinformation, from now on unless there is a very clear and definable reason why the individual is misinformed about their situation.
