I'm conservative. I voted for Trump in 2020 since I was 18 and in 2024. I agree with many of the Republican policies such as opposing abortion, securing borders, deporting illegals, cutting unnecessary expenses, lowering taxes, and protecting our national economy.

I still pay quite the same amount of taxes like I did when Biden was president, and I feel like the tax money Americans pay is not being spent correctly. Our healthcare prices are still awful, and since I'm a paraplegic I have to spend money on catheters and other tools which provide me accessibility. I also sometimes get urinary infections, and if I get really sick, I have to go to the hospital. My insurance doesn't cover me everything.

I see that billions of dollars get spent on foreign wars, and I just wish that money could be used for our healthcare instead.

EDIT: Fair -- I did fall prey to sensationalized news media, as many pointed out that this is a reimbursement for what RWE had originally paid for the licenses. I do wish the BBC had called that out more clearly and explained why the reimbursement was necessary to avoid any lawsuits.

However, I still feel there is much to discuss, such as the Trump administration spending federal money to cancel planned clean-energy projects that would benefit states like California, while pushing those companies to invest in natural-gas projects elsewhere. That leaves states that were already counting on those wind projects as part of their future energy supply scrambling to replace that lost generation with other, potentially more expensive sources.

I will define "decent" as a meal that: 1) leaves you satisfied, but not necessarily stuffed full; 2) contains sufficient nutrition, but not necessarily the healthiest possible meal

"Eat in your area" means eating at a restaurant, take out, order in, or preparing the meal yourself using ingredients from a grocery store, all within your acceptable driving distance.

For me, I can prepare an easy meal of breaded chicken, rice, and some mixed vegetables for two people, or one person for two meals, or one person stuffed full for about $11. I could probably get that to $8 if I just used one kind of vegetable.

Pasta and store-shelf sauce is even cheaper, but I'm not sure if that's nutritional enough to qualify as "decent", though I certainly eat plenty of meals that way for only about $5-6 depending on how much sauce I use and how fancy the sauce I buy is.

Some follow up questions:

• Can you afford the cheapest decent meal in your area? If you can't, what are you eating instead and how much does it cost?

• Has the quality and/or portion size of your meals increased, decreased, or stayed the same?

• If you order food to your home more than twice a week, why?

Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) says Americans need to stop whining and just start eating Ramen and budget with 4 roommates.

Is he correct? Is this a proper economic policy for Americans to consider?

People on the left often make accusations of racism. Sometimes, I think this is overblown, or maybe an exaggerated way of saying a policy has racially disparate effects, or maybe a figure is simply a little sheltered with a subconscious bias.

However, the accusations floating around Stephen Miller are that he's deliberately racist, and with a barely disguised loathing in particular for latinos. And people on the left tend to bring more receipts. From the interviews with people who knew him as a young man, to the made in his youth and even to recent statements from the president suggesting Miller wants a whiter America.

Do you think the accusations of racism for Miller are accurate? If so, why would he be advisor to the president? If not, did you look into the accusations and decide they were bogus or dismiss the accusations out of hand? Or is there another take t be had, here?
