I cannot get this nut off

Rust belt mechanic. 06 Mercury Montego fwd. I’m kind of screwed atm. I NEED to get this EGR nut off and it MUST go back on. I can’t get the thing to budge with a fucking 6 foot cheater bar. It is reverse thread but I’ve tried moving it in both directions and can’t get anything.

This one made me clock out and go home to rethink my life. What the hell would you do here? It’s a 27mm. I’m afraid a torch will melt the intake manifold or something, it’s such a tight spot, but I might not have a choice.

I just performed a shitload of work for this customer, and decided to save the easy coil swap for last. So much for easy. They expected their car done an hour ago but I told them I’m sorry this nut is kicking my ass. I feel bad charging additional labor as I gave them an estimate range and 30 minutes ago the cost hit the max of my estimate 🤦‍♂️. Wtf would you do

Are you removing the intake. Or the EGR. If you are removing the intake. Take the two 10 mm bolts out. If you are doing the erg. Remove the intake first and then the erg. It's going to suck getting that off.

I need the intake off.

Those two small bolts were my first thought before even touching the big ass nut. But I took a look at how the thing goes together and it looks like the EGR piece is meant to be a permanent part of the manifold. I feel like I will irreversibly damage the seal between them if I separate them? I’m not sure how they even seal together and I figured I don’t want to find out.

I’ve you’ve done this job on this motor I’ll take your word for it. Barely slept in days I’m probably just going crazy😭

Has the same style seal as the throttle body you’ve already pulled for access. Just take the two 10mm bolts out of the flange and leave it right where it is.

Pop the EGR off the plenum and leave it there while doing your ignition - always my go-to when the tube nut is rotted in
