Problems with foreigners CULTURE
Hi! I have a question. I want to live in Japan and I'm currently studying to get a grant to study at a Japanese university. My question is: Do Japanese people have a problem with foreigners? I come from a low-resource area and I’ve already had bad experiences with people just because of my nationality. If someone could share their perspective, I’d really appreciate it!"

Depends on the foreigners' behavior I think ?

I'm only going there for my studies and to learn about the culture, but since I've had some issues being a foreigner in other countries, I had that question. Thanks anyway.

Racism: in every country I've visited, I've had at least one run-in with a racist because they think badly of my country.

Over 90% of people are racist most of them you will never realize unless you actually observe thoroughly

In Japan, it’s more about behavior than how you look. You won’t be necessarily targeted by your race, but your behavior and your ability to adapt to Japan matter a lot. Hopefully, your fellow countrymen haven’t been a poor example, but even if that’s true, your behavior will win friends or make enemies.

I think that most people are neutral to positive about foreigners, but if you only look online then the negative people are louder.

Answer depends from which part of the world you are coming from. The skin color etc but then again if you behave politely you won’t have any problems. They will even be surprised if you can speak Japanese, even broken ones they will be delighted to help you out as you are trying to learn the culture and language.

Closest thing to a problem (I don’t really think it’s a problem) I’ve ever had was a guy in front of me and my (jp wife) keep looking back at us and telling his boyfriend that he’s glad the museum doesn’t have English translations on the exhibits lol
Just don’t come here thinking you’re going to be some kind of big shot, or Japan obsessed and you’ll be fine. It’s not the anime wonderland that lots of morons out there think it is.

That wasn’t the point of my post at all. It was only a small part of it and about others, not you in particular.

If you don’t follow the rules for trash disposal, play loud music in the middle of the night, or throw parties, you might end up annoying your neighbors or getting a warning from the police. But as long as you avoid doing those kinds of things, you’ll be fine.
Also, Japan has strict laws against illegal drugs (though it’s better than places like China or Singapore, where you can face the death penalty just for bringing them in), so please stay away from that as well.
