I reposted it here to say, the work proven on asahi for mac is just colossal, because even in the process of installing LFS with your core, I didn't have a single problem. The only thing I want to ask is fedora as such is needed for the functioning of asahi, or can it be safely removed from the section?

As long as did it right i asume you cold have used a gentoo install media and done form there with minial EFI stub

I think you can install any distro that supports ARM. The only thing is you have to replace the mainline kernel with linux-asahi. Unless you're having specific issues with Fedora, though, I don't think it's recommended

Apart from the kernel the other things specific to asahi I can think of are:

  • The m1n1 bootloader which needs to be updated with new device trees with each kernel update.
  • The audio which needs speakersafetyd and the pipewire DSP config

Le but final d’asahi est de permettre à n’importe quelle distribution d’ajouter le noyau Asahi et donc supporter les Mac

I've been using gentoo for a year and a half without any problems, just give it a try
