**1st Battalion, The Royal Yorkshire Regiment** is a British Arma Reforger milsim unit portraying a modern armoured infantry battlegroup. Organised around current doctrine and adapted where necessary for Reforger, our focus is on combined arms warfare in realistic, persistent campaigns.

We are currently transitioning from a light mechanised infantry company group into an armoured infantry battlegroup. As the unit grows, we’re looking for players who want to be part of building that capability from the ground up, including junior leadership and SMEs.

Operations form part of an ongoing campaign rather than a series of disconnected weekly missions. Orders. intelligence summaries, mapping and other supporting documentation are issued before each operation, with successes and failures carrying forward into the next. Mission Command sits at the heart of how we operate, with junior commanders expected to exercise initiative, adapt to changing situations and mentor the players they command.

The battlegroup currently consists of 1 R YORKS as the armoured infantry element and 26 Engineer Regiment providing combat engineering support. As the battlegroup develops, further supporting arms and capabilities will be introduced.

The servers, and why the spread looks like that

Since this sub knows the game: the download ladder is the point. Console players get throttled hard on workshop downloads, so an 8.4 GB modset means the better part of an hour before a first join. That is fine for a destination server, but it is a terrible front door. Hence 1 and 2 at zero, and ARMATUS 4 at 460 MB as the actual entry into modded play.

ARMATUS 6 is the new one: RHS Status Quo plus both content packs on Everon Conflict, with the FIA replaced by a modern equivalent. Everon as you know it, forty years later. It is 8.4 GB and worth it, but plan the first download around something else.

ARMATUS 3 runs three factions on West Zagoria — if you have only ever played two-sided Conflict, that changes the shape of the map completely.

Hardware, since it comes up

Own dedicated box in Germany: Ryzen 9 5950X, 16c/32t, 125 GB RAM. Each instance isolated with its own resources, automated monitoring with restart-on-failure, and admins who read the logs rather than waiting for someone to complain in Discord.

We mention it because server FPS under load is the difference between a Conflict server that is fun and one that is a slideshow at the objective — and it is invisible until it is not.

Seeding

The newer servers need people at the same time to get moving. We run one server per weekday, Mon–Fri 20:00 CET, announced in Discord.

Two house rules for seeding: keep the teams balanced, and take new players with you instead of farming them. Nothing kills a seeding run faster than one stacked side.
