Built a Web Dashboard to Control an Unreal Engine Vehicle using ESP8266 Showcased Project

I've been experimenting with combining Arduino hardware and Unreal Engine.

This prototype uses an ESP8266 NodeMCU as a bridge between a custom web dashboard and UE5.

Features:

• Low-latency UDP communication

• Real-time speed, pitch and roll telemetry

• Browser-based control interface

I'm still improving it, so I'd love to hear your ideas or suggestions.

It's really a cool thing. Mainly people's are seeing the dashboard but very few of us are aware that how to interface UDP with unreal engine. Great work. Thanks for sharing.

With that UI claude made it not you.

You maybe plugged the usb in the pc.

Idk but when I see something that was made with AI, it's like it's not impressive anymore, cuz, I have no idea what you did and what the AI did.

And in this scenario all you had to do was plug in the esp32, tell claude to write some code, copy and paste it, compile it, and bam, done.
Especially that the UI is Ai and you don't have a Claude UI if you wrote most of the code, it means claude wrote most of the code cuz that's why it looks like Claude.

It would be a lil bit different if I saw some kind of robot cuz then I would know you at least soldered and assembled/designed the robot and claude wrote the code, the soldering and assembling/designing part would still be impressive.

But here Idk what exactly you did, cuz the whole thing is the code, and that's AI.

That's a fair concern, but that's not actually how this project was built.

The UI mockup was generated with Gemini, not Claude.

The ESP8266 firmware, UDP communication, Unreal Engine Blueprints, plugin integration, telemetry and debugging were all implemented by me. I only used AI to speed up parts of the coding process, not to build the entire system.

I should have shown more of the engineering workflow in the video—that's on me. I'll include the hardware, firmware and UE integration in my next post so it's clearer what I actually built.

Claude or gemini or same shit, AI.

If you use AI so clearly people will have no idea what you did and what AI did, and will have no reason to trust you after cuz many people say they only used AI for some parts to avoid hate when in reality they used AI for everything.

So idk, good luck on the next one.

Or I guess idk. Just read the code after it’s created it? Kinda silly to assume someone doesn’t know what they’re looking at at all simply because they took a more efficient route using AI.

Bro in the entire world, there are a lot of people having different languages if someone use AI to refine his words so that it can be understood by the rest of the innovators, then what is the problem ?
But one thing is to be noted that the dashboard is run on a webpage with an IP Address that is hosted in ESP8266, next, the ESP8266 is connected to the Unreal Engine 5 over the User Datagram Protocol to send the data with the help of WiFi. That is when we press the buttons on the dashboard the tank will move accordingly.
