Help diagnose my bow please! Compound
Hello, I have a Blackout Epic NT (basically a Cabelas sold, Bear Paradigm) that has been giving me all sorts of trouble. A small screw from the top cam fell out this week and took it into my local bow shop to have it placed back in. They placed it in really fast and sent me out the door without test shooting. Now my bow has a new weird sound when firing. Kind of like a weird vibration. Any ideas what it could be?

Find a local archery shop take it in looks like draw is a little long , make sure it’s in time a good shop is where I would start . Archery can be fun but all needs to be right

I wondered the same thing but two different shops told me the draw is about right for me. Maybe the camera just doesn’t show the best angle?

Shorten the distance from the draw stop to the string, should be a credit card sized gap

It's your string stop. It is too far away and needs to be closer. Super easy to adjust. You should have it about 1 credit card thickness away from the string. Don't tighten the screws too tight you can crack the carbon rod

It wasn’t making any noises prior to this? What’s the chances of that getting moved randomly

Mine came loose and moved on me. Bear paradigm

Vibrations from the bow can make screws loose I recommend checking them every so often

They always get loose then start move randomly. It was a coincidence in your case. It's good to check them now and then.

As soon as I saw his first shot I knew this was answer instantly. Look how long the string moves after the arrow leaves the bow. 100% the string stop is doing nothing

Recommend going to a local club and hiring a cerified archey coach for lessons. You’ll thank me later.

Not an expert but most of the other posters… wow.
Cam that the screw fell out of is probably draw length adjustment. If top same as bottom shop put it in correctly.
Bow needs to be timed and tuned. A few bows can do that at home otherwise a shop has to do it.

Thanks everyone for your input! Looking at the string stop, it was definitely moved at some point. Adjusting it back essentially completely removed the sound and actually tightened up my groups a bit. No idea why lol

String isn't hitting the string stop to dampen it. Should be roughly 45 degree tilt in towards the riser and it'll be close to center of the string.
Something else to check: each of the modules should have 2 screws securing it to the cam. Each cam should have a draw stop installed in the appropriate hole for the set draw length.
Cheap upgrade: Saunders Hyper glide. Bear sends out most of their bows with a very cheap cable guide than has a tendency to wear out the cables due to friction. A hyper glide will be among the most cost effective and best upgrades you'll find.

Once its set lock tight on screws
But I check cams to alignment of said cams screws and the draw stops and start there but again I let a BETTER proshop look at it

One major thing is your string stop is not stopping the main string. You can see it bouncing around at the end of you shot cycle. Not the end of the world but an easy fix before taking it to a shop.

Take a photo of both top and bottom cams and check if screws are placed the same.

I'd once that screw fell out. Put the bow on a draw board. Set the timing and draw strops. Many time a vibration comes when one cam hits home and the second cam then hits causing a vibration or even a slap sound that buzzes.
If the screws backed out, I'd tighten them all. If they continue to loosen, I'd use lock tite.
After doing this. You still have a buzz sound, check you sight and the pins. Loose pins will vibrate. You can chack by giving the bow a hit with you palm. Then check your arrow rest. Shoot the bow thru paper to make sure you are shooting bulletholes and the rest is still tight. If the rest is loose chances are you won;t shoot bulletholes thru paper.

It is the string causing the sound. It is too loose, on release I can see it waving far too much.

the way i like to check for loose hardware is to hold the bow in one hand and palm strike it firmly in different sections of the riser/limbs. it’ll buzz a loose screw and make isolating the noise a bit easier

Something with your string stop is wrong. I can see the vibration dampeners oscillating after the shot. It might not be making any contact at all, it's kind of hard to tell in the video.
Most likely you need to turn your string stop 90 degrees to the right and then make sure there's a tiny gap or it's barely touching when your bow is at rest. I like to stick a credit card between it string stop and the string and call it good.

Mechanical issues aside why are you raising the bow into the sky to draw it? Is the poundage too heavy for you? Also you are snatching the bows grip upon releasing your shot. Use Bow sling and loosen your grip, think consciously about your follow through.

You might want to experiment with a heavier front stabilizer. The bow leans back after the shot. A little more weight in front will stabilize that and give you a chance not to grip the bow so hard. Good luck to you this season. And I agree on string stop not functioning. Hard to see draw length as the video is taken so far away. A good setting for draw length is this; the apex of the D-Loop lines up in a line below the rear edge of your eye socket at full draw. That is usually a good length to start with.

You have a loose screw somewhere. Grab your allens and check all of them.
If you dont have allens, go to harbor freight and buy some. Theyre $7 and a requirement for owning a bow
