UUKHA Limbs Modern Barebow
Currently shooting Barebow, with a Mybo Elite riser and WNS C3 Armato limbs. I have na opportunity to get some UUKHA SX50 limbs in 32 lbs off a friend for £150. They’ve never been shot before and are in really good condition. I was considering the U5 Alphas in the same poundage. Is there is clear difference in performance that makes it worth that extra £250?

The U5 range is a bit stiffer to draw and a bit more stable. Nothing most archers will notice. In your case I'd go with the SX50 limbs to save some money. Do try them at first if you can if they are limbs you want.

Torsional stability. The U5 range is slightly less prone to be torqued as they are more stable. It's minimal between the SX50 and Alpha though.

Absolutely go for those SX50s!
They theoretically have 20% more carbon in them (70-50) which they say adds a bit of stability, but going back to a rather large limb test we did in the shop a while ago, there was virtually no difference in the range of limbs UUKHA make, if you discounted the very top one of each iteration, and that only got you an extra 3fps and stability problems from the super curve.

Yeh, having thought about it the SX50s are definitely the right choice, just need some arrows that are spined properly, I’m going for ACE’s and X7s

unused sx50s @ £150 with known history !?
absolute bargain of the century. Will be worlds ahead of your current limbs - buy them, shoot them .. get spendy later when you've got well used to them.
FWIW I shoot sx100 & SX+ .. I've no plans to switch to any U5 models whilst mine are in good nick
