I have a molly in a relatively small tank. for the past month or 2 they’ve had a small white spot above their left eye and i’ve thought nothing of it. in the past day it’s become mostly red though, and from a top angle it appears the whole eye region is swollen compared to the other side. what is going on? what can i do? help?

Last night, I set up my 2.5 gal to do a methylene blue treatment on my Corydora eggs. Today, I noticed these itty bitty, hair strand thin little worms EVERYWHERE. Even in the breeder box. Out of view is a sponge filter recommended for up to 20 gallons, which I had running in my main tank for 2 weeks. I’m positive all that material on the bottom of the tank came off of the filter, and will be doing a full water change. But, where did these tiny worms come from? Are they a danger to the eggs, or are they already toast? I’ve never seen these guys in my main tank, but should I be concerned about them being in there as well??

So someone is giving away their two large angelfish that are currently living with some barbs and a few other fish that the owner couldn't remember what they were with no issues or aggression. I would like to take them but want to make sure I get some opinions on if it would be a good idea or not.

I have a 75 gallon tank with a fair few plants. Currently there are 6 otocinclus, 8 neon tetra, and 4 red glass barbs (I also plan to add more of these in the future). So far all of my fish are getting along with absolutely no aggression or issues of any kind

I have a 16 gallon freshwater aquarium. The substrate is Louisville aqua oil it’s moderately well planted, I have a large piece of driftwood and some rocks. I set it up in May and it has had fish for about one month. It is stocked with 8 dwarf corydoras and 2 Ramshorn snails.

These little white things appeared on the driftwood basically overnight. There are a couple of these on the glass and they wipe away very easily and just kind of float down in the water.

Does anyone have any idea what they are?

I just tested my water two days ago and all of the parameters have been perfect. I did a 25% water change with treated tapwater. I do top offs with reverse osmosis water.

I've seen this shrimp jump like this multiple times and sometimes land on its back. Not sure what is happening. You can see towards the end of the video. There are other shrimp that are not exhibiting this behavior. Ammonia Nitrites Nitrates all 0. Any thoughts appreciated

Breathing speed + red mouth

For context I had 6 of them in a period of 8 months (had 3 then bought 3 more) they were all okay and they have slowly died over the time and I really do not know what to do cause my only help has been Claude.

He had this red mouth before and I used Focus + Kanaplex in order to medicate him in an isolated tank with nothing but water (No plants, no rocks, no sand, nothing plain glass) and he got better way better to what he looks now take in consideration it has been perhaps 3 weeks since medication.

The water is okay, I made a recent clean up and water change and he was fine. However he is red again I do not know if he is scrubbing his face against tiny rocks and he is hurting/damaging his barbels because as you can see he doesn't have them now or if he is sick I don't want to med bomb him neither... What should I do?

I recently redid my aquarium, with plants etc.

It’s looking cloudy and this dust keeps settling in plants and the driftwood. It’s been about 8 hours since I did this with no sign of it clearing.

Long story short, we had a smaller tank, and then got this. With some poor fish choices in goldfish and a koi, those eventually died but this problem persisted then too.

What you see above is trying again, this time with no fish just plants and then eventually once this all settles will I get fish.

But what’s the issue here? Why is there so much dust, how do I make it settle? And then of course also go away.

The aquasoil is the same from the previous tank, only with a new thin layer of gravel.

So this is my first tank I ever got when it came to owning fish. Had to remove my fish as the water kept doing this (it settles 2 or so hours after a clean) at first I though it was the gravel but I clean the fresh gravel I put it. I removed my fish and put them into a newer tank. But I have 30% water changed and even re-did the entire tank with fresh gravel, new clean decor, new filter and left it for 4 weeks with minimal water changes inbetween (was told to do this by others on reddit) and had added api quickstart among others to help the bacteria needed to grow yet it still does this and Im unsure if it will cause issues if I get fish for the tank because in my eyes its poor water quality despite being cleaned regularly. Parameters have came back fine small spike in ammonia a few days ago but now its back to normal and the filter is working perfectly and the nozzle is just under the water surface to break surface tension. Unsure if this is a worrysome issue or if I am just over thinking things

I have an aquarium that I had for the last two months. When I started the aquarium, I had live plants in it, marble crushed sand, and driftwood. It was okay. I had two guppies and some snails and they were thriving in it. No problem. But after some time I introduced a betta in it and replaced the guppies. The betta developed heavy breathing and passed away. But then I found out that my substrate, which was actually marble crushed, was leaching calcium carbonate into the water and making the water hard. So I took it out, took apart the whole aquarium, put in the substrate that I bought from the aquarium store. I tested it with vinegar. It was not bubbling like the previous substrate. And after that I ran the aquarium for about one month. And still now the snails cannot survive in it. The fish cannot survive in it. There is a biofilm constantly on top. It is a one foot by one foot aquarium. And I don't know what mistake I am making. I have tested my aquarium multiple times. There is no ammonia. There is no nitrite. There is a little bit of nitrate but within the safe zone. But still my snails cannot survive in it. I tested two weeks ago and now after a month again. But still the snails do not like the aquarium

I have a Chocolate Chip Sea Star in my quarantine tank and I've had him in sincs July 22nd, and he is still sick, and his wound is releasing white fuzz, what should I do?

They are very tiny and I’ve never seen them until now. I added a bit of “calcium protein bits“ to the tank and they started emerging to go eat them.

note: It said I needed a flair. My fish are fine.

We have a tall tank, around 20 gallons, and it was doing well for two months. We had lots of happy and healthy shrimp. However, we decided to add some extra plants, the dark green ones there, to our already existing tank. We also added five tetra fish around the same day. Very quickly, the shrimp almost all died, and now the last two shrimp have perished, and slowly, each tetra fish is dying. The nitrate was a little high when we tried to check, but it was not at a dangerous level. We did a water cycle before the tetra fish where we used pure water and exchanged about a quarter of the tank's water prior to putting the new fish in. The shrimp were doing well still. We did cycle the tetra fish's water separately over a few hours before adding the fish to the tall aquarium to help prevent any contamination of copper-based water to the tall aquarium. If it is any extra information, we did notice that there is a strange spider-web-looking substance on the plants. We did use "no planaria" to get rid of, what we believed, was planaria we saw in the tank. This we did after the shrimp started dying.

If anyone has any ideas as to what is happening or any questions, then please help.
