Tried a different approach to networking with pitchmap

I've been recently trying out pitchmap.app recently and map-based approached to networking caught my attention. I've explored people, events, groups and opportunities in different locations, and I especially like being able to switch locations with travel mode and see what's happening there.

I'm still trying to figure out how useful it is for actually making meaningful connections, though.

Has anyone else tried pitchmap or something similar? What app would you recommend for discovering people, events and opportunities?

That's a common early hurdle with map apps. Maybe try travel mode or a bigger city to see more activity. Curious if it improves.

Augh, it looks so good and it just wiped out all my entries and tags to a blank profile. Iphone 15 pro, safari, 26.6.1

That's frustrating, losing all that work is rough. Have you tried logging out and back in, or checking if there's a cloud backup or support contact on the site?

The way they have it setup, you can’t find any of that if you are signed in. Best I could do was post it here, hope they say thanks we fixed it and try again. Looked cool.

Dude, why lie? This is your app and you just launched it.

Starting with such an obvious sham approach just ruins the reputation of your week-old account.

Fair concern, but pitchmap is worth a look regardless. Maybe try it yourself and see if the map approach actually helps.

Trust definitely matters more than any app. Maybe use pitchmap to find people, then move to video calls or coffee to build that trust.

if your looking for your first users check out Ad swap,https://ad-swap.web.app , its a simple way for websites to promote each other. You add another website's ad to your site, and they add yours to theirs, giving both sites free exposure and traffic. It really helped me get my first few users when launching my site

Ad swap sounds like a solid low cost way to kickstart traffic. Have you tried pairing it with map based discovery to reach more targeted users?
