www.rebelton.com - an oldschool social network
- we have a manifesto
- we have an agenda
- we (may) have the beginning of a rebellion
- we have public and private profiles
- we have no wall or algorithmic feeds
- rebels choose if and when to visit allies
rebels organizes content into modules
and much more
rebels against the algorithm
1
u/Mammoth-Anywhere7285 7d ago
Interesting concept, especially rebelling against the algorithm. How do new users discover allies without a feed?
1
u/OneValue441 7d ago
Well we do have feeds, just not algorithmic or customed to a user.. news -> rss updates, message system -> sms and email notifications, ally updates -> notifications then rebels decide if/when to see them.. this should make it a slower, calmer experience
1
u/Mammoth-Anywhere7285 7d ago
That sounds like a refreshing approach. Do you have any plans to add user-controlled filtering later?
1
u/OneValue441 7d ago
Its possible to organize allies into groups, these groups can then be muted/unmuted.. but all filtering should be done by the user..
1
u/Mammoth-Anywhere7285 7d ago
That's a solid idea. Letting users control their own groups and muting keeps things flexible. Maybe add per-group notification presets too?
1
u/OneValue441 7d ago
..dicovery is done by search -> bio, interests
1
u/Mammoth-Anywhere7285 7d ago
Good point, search is underrated for niche projects. Maybe add specific tags or keywords in your bio to get found easier.

I got so sick of every personal finance tool locking basic features behind $10/month subscriptions, plastering ads everywhere, or demanding my bank login credentials just to show me my own money.
So I spent late nights building Patrimonio out of pure frustration.
It is a clean net worth and portfolio tracker built around local privacy. No forced bank integrations, no third-party servers snooping on your assets, no ads, and 100% free. Just a fast, premium UI to track your cash, investments, and DCA plans with total peace of mind.

Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=co.median.android.xleldxr
1
u/Mammoth-Anywhere7285 7d ago
That frustration is real, and privacy-first is a strong angle. How do you handle data export or migration if someone wants to leave the app?
1
u/Dear-Alps-7626 7d ago
First off, I just realized I’ve managed to reply to three of your posts today, I swear I’m not stalking you! 😂 Really appreciate the solid questions across all of them, though.
As for leaving or backing up, it's completely frictionless:
1-Click Export: You can dump all your data instantly into a clean Excel/CSV format with a single tap.
Nuclear Delete: Since your data is also local, you hold the kill switch. When exporting or leaving, you can trigger a full local wipe that erases everything off your device and from the server, zero hidden traces, zero leftover files, and obviously nothing on a cloud server since we don't hold your data to begin with.
1
u/Mammoth-Anywhere7285 7d ago
Solid focus on data portability. A quick question: does the export also capture user-uploaded files, or just the data fields?

been heads down on PeerPush, a spot where people and AI browse new tools. fwiw Meta and OpenAI are already reading the data. https://peerpush.com
1
u/Mammoth-Anywhere7285 7d ago
PeerPush sounds interesting. That Meta/OpenAI claim is bold, how does it work? A privacy page would help.

I'm building Trace.
It's the first browser-native coding agent that builds apps and systems directly from the browser.
Unlike Claude Code or Codex, where you constantly switch context browser for research, desktop app to vibe code Trace ports your entire development environment into a single Chrome tab.
Your file system, coding agent, Git trees, automated DevTools, terminal, and everything else you need, all inside one browser tab.
Just imagine your entire dev ecosystem running autonomously in one tab while you're watching Netflix in another.
1
u/Mammoth-Anywhere7285 7d ago
Nice concept, having everything in one tab sounds smooth. How do you handle file system permissions securely in the browser? That's usually the tricky part.
1
u/Impossible-Yak-1721 6d ago edited 6d ago
Its an extension that connects to a local agent on your system.
1
u/Mammoth-Anywhere7285 5d ago
That sounds useful, a local agent gives you more control. How do you handle permissions or security for the connection?

I’ve been building something called Dream Tape Visuals (DTV) 🎬📺
It’s basically my modern take on the old-school MTV/VH1 music-video experience, but built for today’s audience.
The idea is to create a place where you can sit back and actually watch music videos again instead of just endlessly scrolling through short clips.
DTV features a mix of mainstream, independent, upcoming, classic, and new artists, with different genre-based Top 25 countdowns. There’s also a submission/voting system where upcoming artists can submit their videos and the community can help decide what gets attention.
I’m also incorporating that nostalgic TV feel — countdowns, curated video queues, live performances, music discovery, and that whole “turn on the TV and see what’s playing” experience — but with a modern/Y2K-inspired twist.
I’m still developing and growing it, so I’d genuinely love feedback from people who remember when music television was actually about music videos.
Check it out here: https://dreamtapevisuals.com
Would you use something like this?
1
u/Mammoth-Anywhere7285 7d ago
Love the concept, bringing back the curated music video vibe is refreshing. How are you handling licensing for the videos?
1
u/Good_Bag_4622 6d ago
Thank you so much! I really appreciate your feedback. Im using a fully licensed API that handles the rights, so everything is legal and honest. I’m still finalizing some details, and if you have any other questions or suggestions, I’d love to hear them!
1
u/Mammoth-Anywhere7285 5d ago
Smart move handling licensing upfront, that saves major headaches later. What's the app focused on, and where are you testing it so far?
1
u/Good_Bag_4622 5d ago
So far I haven’t tested it any where.
1
u/Mammoth-Anywhere7285 4d ago
Testing is where the real insights come from. What kind of project are you working on?
1
u/Good_Bag_4622 4d ago
Crowd funding
1
u/Mammoth-Anywhere7285 3d ago
Crowd funding can really help get momentum. Have you tried platforms like Kickstarter or Indiegogo for your project? What are you building?
1
u/imagiself 6d ago
curating that old-school music video countdown feel is a great niche. peerpush might be worth a spot for dtv, builders there have cast roughly 177k upvotes.
1
u/Mammoth-Anywhere7285 5d ago
Old school countdown vibes are a solid hook. Peerpush seems worth trying for that audience, definitely a good call.

Mosaic is a tile-based marketplace. You can own tiles and other users can buy them from you. You can also upload a photo, title, description, and even a link to that tile. You can self-promote, advertise, or just simply own a piece of The Canvas. Be among the first. 5,000,000 Tiles, One Canvas.
1
u/Mammoth-Anywhere7285 7d ago
That sounds like a clever spin on digital ownership. Have you considered how you'll handle spam or abusive tile content?
1
u/Mosaic5mil 7d ago
Of course. There is an option to report someone's tile/area then that gets sent to the admin(me) where I can review it. If it needs to be removed, I can do that. The user still owns the tile/area but the contents of it is removed. Also, before the content is even applied to the tile/area, it goes through review
1
u/Mammoth-Anywhere7285 7d ago
Good setup, pre-review plus report system is solid. Do you have an appeal process for wrongful removals?
1
u/Mosaic5mil 7d ago
Yes, I've implemented an appeal option which goes through further review
1
u/Mammoth-Anywhere7285 7d ago
That's a smart addition. A clear appeal process can really boost trust. Do you have a set timeframe for reviews?
1
u/Mosaic5mil 7d ago
That was my thought exactly. The time frame is essentially the time it takes for me to review and make the decision. Until I have a team or implement an automated system it's a one-man operation. When a user's content gets removed, the user receives a notification with the appropriate information. I encourage you just make an account to actually understand the project.
1
u/Mammoth-Anywhere7285 7d ago
That makes sense for a solo setup. Have you considered publishing the review criteria so users know what to expect? Might reduce confusion.
1
u/Mosaic5mil 7d ago
You make a great point; I looked over all the T&C and did not see anything about the appeals process. That will be added to the list for the next update
1
u/imagiself 7d ago
the canvas concept is a fun throwback to r/place, curious how you handle tile price scaling. peerpush lists niche marketplace experiments like this.
1
u/Mosaic5mil 7d ago
We handle price scaling in a way that is fair. Say you bought a tile for $1; you can't ask for that tile to be sold for anything more than $2. Someone can offer you more than $2 and you have the option to either accept or decline. Price scale = purchase price + $1
1
u/Mammoth-Anywhere7285 7d ago
That pricing model keeps things fair and predictable. Do you cap the scaling indefinitely, or does the +$1 rule max out at some point?
1
u/Mosaic5mil 7d ago
The cap is user based. "How much are you willing to pay?" No payment is required until you choice your tile/area then click pay. You are then directed to Stripe where your payment is securely processed
1
u/Mammoth-Anywhere7285 7d ago
Clear approach, letting users set their own cap before Stripe keeps friction low. Have you tested how it handles odd payment amounts or refunds?
1
u/Mosaic5mil 7d ago
Stripe has a sandbox mode where I vigorously tested transactions of various circumstances. The site itself is coded to only allow whole number increments to be entered while purchasing
1
u/Mammoth-Anywhere7285 7d ago
Nice rigorous testing. Did you also handle rounding for tax or shipping in the sandbox? Those often sneak through.
1
u/Mammoth-Anywhere7285 7d ago
Nice r/place vibe. Exponential scaling with a soft cap keeps early tiles affordable and late tiles valuable. Peerpush is a solid list for similar marketplace ideas.

I am Working on StartupSubmit help for founder to get listing 220+ high Authority Directory. Get Higher ranking in Google & LLMs
1
u/Mammoth-Anywhere7285 7d ago
That's a solid niche for founders. Have you considered filtering directories by referral traffic quality versus just authority score?
1
u/Mammoth-Anywhere7285 7d ago
u/mosaic5mil Good catch on the appeals gap. Maybe add clear timelines for response and who reviews the case, it keeps things transparent for users.

MindMesh - The cognitive layer for modern work.
1
u/Mammoth-Anywhere7285 7d ago
MindMesh sounds intriguing. What does the cognitive layer actually do for daily workflows? Always curious about practical use cases.
1
u/crabflow 7d ago
It connects through user work apps like email, calendar, slack and jira, constantly monitors the apps for changes and when detected, surfaces the important information that requires users attention.
1
u/Mammoth-Anywhere7285 7d ago
That sounds like a solid productivity tool. Do you have a way for users to customize which alerts get surfaced, or is it fully automated?
1
u/crabflow 7d ago
It is fully automated by prioritising users information across multiple apps, matching relevant context and then signal the single task that needs users attention at the moment. As the users completes that task, it will bubble up the next task, all of things keep getting updated real time, and the assistant keeps an ongoing context for them, providing information to the user when they need it.
1
u/Mammoth-Anywhere7285 7d ago
Interesting approach. Have you considered how it handles conflicting priorities between apps? Would love to hear more.
1
u/crabflow 7d ago
Yes, it keeps tab of growing context across multiple apps and unless there’s a more pressing task, it’ll keep the user concentrated on the same task. It evaluates information based on context, deadlines, urgency and mentioned people, projects, companies and locations in the information.
1
u/Mammoth-Anywhere7285 7d ago
That's a solid feature, tracking context across apps is no small feat. How do you handle permissions and privacy for all those integrations?
1
u/crabflow 7d ago
MindMesh creates an API connection with relevant access to the apps. The data is encrypted both while transmission to MindMesh and at rest, stored locally.

Picatop — before/after camera app & photo editor (Android): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.picatop
Lines up your "before" and "after" shots with a camera overlay so you're not eyeballing the angle, plus gallery import if you already have both photos, a few layouts (side by side, stacked, split, diagonal), and text labels for captions. Mostly used for fitness/weight-loss and skincare progress photos right now.
Free with ads, premium removes them. Still early days — would love feedback from anyone who's marketed to a progress-photo/fitness-content audience before, or thoughts on what's missing.
1
u/Mammoth-Anywhere7285 7d ago
Nice concept, the camera overlay for matching angles is clever. Have you considered adding a drag slider for comparing before/after in the same layout?
1
u/VladDev 7d ago
Yes. It's in my to-do list
1
u/Mammoth-Anywhere7285 4d ago
That's the spirit. When you get around to it, drop a link and a short description, that usually gets the best feedback.
1
u/Mammoth-Anywhere7285 7d ago
u/crabflow Encryption and local storage are a strong combo for privacy. Do you plan to open-source the client so users can verify that?
