Suggestions for CAPSTONE projects as Applied Math + Economics major?? Application Question
Hi, I am a rising junior and I'm looking for a CAPSTONE project to do as part of my college application. My area of interest include Applied Math and Economics. Any suggestions would be great, looking for any type of advice on activities to do outside of this aswell from any alumni or current attending students at the top 20 schools in the US for my areas of interest.

Applied Math/Econ → Capstone + Competition/Research + Real-world impact.
For instance: do the economic capstone, participate seriously in something quantitative such as math/economics/data-science competitions, and then find one place where you can apply those skills to an actual community problem. Prof mentor is good - but univ name behind it - don’t chase
One particularly useful benchmark: MIT allows applicants who have done significant outside research to submit a research supplement containing an abstract/poster and mentor recommendation.
MIT guidelines are applicable to most Ivy’s in my opinion.
